This review is from: Terua: The History of Contemporary Iranian Jews (Paperback)
Jews have been living in Iran for 2500 years, yet most people are surprised to hear about their existence. As a result, not much academic work has been done on this the oldest and largest community of Middle Eastern Jews since the Diaspora. This vacuum makes Terua and its two following volumes invaluable to anyone interested in learning more about the Jews of Iran. The articles are well researched, and they vary in their scope. Sahim's study on Iranian Jewish dialects is especially informative. I recommend the book to everyone interested in Middle Eastern history and Jewish studies.
