4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but too player friendly?
When compared to Test Drive 5, I don't think that the graphics are as good, and the handling characteristics and physics of the cars are not realistic. However, the gameis also much easier to play and enjoy this time around, because it has been made much more player friendly, and there are many different tracks from which to choose.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lousy.
Pretty cruddy game. Completely non-user friendly. You can't get rid of the stupid cops or traffic even though it says you can. The cops and the traffic make for a very frustrating race. The steering is very stiff and if you mess up just once, you have no chance of winning the race. The tracks are short and boring and the scenery is nothing interesting.

This is probably the worst driving simulator I have ever purchased. The cars do have differing handling characteristics but they are all equally flighty, it's iether straight, full left or right, no middle ground anywhere in the game. The graphics are poor and the fun factor is a negative. The choice of vehicles is impressive but the detail is lacking. I found that to purchase more than one car was extremely cumbersome and I found I was constantly waiting for screens to load. If you enjoy GranTurismo or even TOCA2 I would not buy this game. This game left me feeling that I had wasted my time and money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very entertaining., December 4, 1999

For a racing game, this one ain't too hot. The tracks are not very long or intricate. A few lame shortcuts per track. The handling is pretty difficult to get used to and the graphics aren't too exciting. I wish playstation would stop wasting valuable data space with stupid movie clips and soundtrack music. This space could be used to make the actual playable part of the game better. The cops are really annoying and the fact that you have to bet money on the races is kind of dumb. I'm not interested in all the extra junk. I want a racer that is devoted to the racing. Take Rush 2 for the N64. Now that's a racing game. This one, however, is not.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Quite Test Drive 5, June 3, 2000

This is an average games, but if you want a serious racing games Test Drive 5 is the ansewer. I have both titles, but I race Test Drive much more often than 6. In my oppinion the graphics are better than the NFS games. One problem with this games is the long tracks are a downgrade from Test Drive 5. Its an average game nothing to spectacular, its no Test Drive 5.

I haven't played other Test Drive games, but I am addicted to this game! When first playing, I didn't like it -- crude graphics, difficult controls, but after a few more races it really grew on me, to where I lose track of time and spend hours trying to win just one more race. I love the variety of tracks, especially the various cities. One reviewer criticizes the lack of GM products -- who cares? There are many other cars to choose from. Some criticize the unrealistic physics -- but this is a huge positive in my opinion as the crashes with cars flying through the air, cross street crashes and huge jumps are downright hilarious and always keep me entertained -- this IS the whole point of video games after all! Also, I like the fact that running into object/other cars doesn't always stop you dead, as it keeps the game fun and moving along. Give this game a chance -- it's a blast trying to avoid the cops, and watching the computer cars trying to ram you off the road.

I haven't played any of the other ones, but I loved this one! I especially liked the cars. I loved the Cop Chase races! The Cars are superfast! The only down side to this game is that sometimes the cars can be hard to control. I also didn't like some of the race tracks. But besides that, I have no complaints.

i just got a playstation for christmas and test Drive six is one of the six games that i got. In my opinion it is at just the right difficulty level. It's not too hard but, it's not too easy either! you have to beat certain challenges and get get 1st-3rd place in a certain number of tournaments in order to get a new line of cars. there are 4 classes of cars and when you start out the game, you start at Class one. i think it's a really cool game, if ya don't believe me, read some of the other reviews and you'll see that i'm not the only one who thinks so!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Fun!, December 24, 2002
This review is from: Test Drive 6 (Video Game)
This game may not be for hard-core racers, but if you want to have fun, try it! I played this with my friend on her PlayStation, and we thought it was great. What could be more fun than bashing taxis, poles, or other cars while listening to TD6's awesome soundtrack? It features bands such as Kottonmouth Kings, Lunatic Calm, Empirion, Eve 6, Q-Burns Abstract Messsage, Fear Factory, Gary Numan, and Cirrus. When you play the Challenges, you race as fast as you can on a specified track to try to finish in a certain amount of time while avoiding obstacles such as other cars. Winning the Challenges will earn you credits, which you can use to improve your car or buy a new car. Cop Chase is a personal favorite-you get to arrest your friend while she tries to speed away from you. It's hilarious-you can press charges depending on whether she hit you, resisted arrest, etc. In Pink Slip, you and your friend bet your cars-the winner of the single race or quad race takes both cars. There are several other features such as Practice races and bonus tracks, and let's not forget the skidding and crashing! The possibilities are numerous-it's an addictive game!

2.0 out of 5 stars Compared to previous test drives, this one tanks, December 29, 2001
This review is from: Test Drive 6 (Video Game)
O.k. the reason that this game sucks is because it wasn't designed by the same people that did test drive 4 and 5. The graphics are terrible it's like a badly drawn cartoon. I might have been able to look past that just a little however the cars drive terribly also. two thumbs down!~
