Two MCSD exams covered in one book. The first problem is no distinction what-so-ever exists between the two exams as far as the book is concerned. If you want to fail 2 tests in one day, this is definitely the book for you. The publisher's web site no longer contains ANY information on this title, much less the sorely needed list of corrections to the errors that plague this publication. Truly a waste of time and money.

This book was really put together in a hurry. There are a lot of mistakes, both spelling and just plain wrong answers. The are 4 final practice tests in this book and they seem to be all the same. Testing the same type of question over and over again. Really there is only in total 2 practice tests where questions might be different. The questions really didn't prep you well enough to give you an idea of what the actual test has. Again this book is good if you have exausted all other avenues and are just looking for another angle of testing. In my opinion, don't waste your time.

This book helps review concepts for the exam but does not help AT ALL with the scenario based questions which form most of the test. It certainly doesn't hurt, but it won't get you through without other sources to practice with

I just pass 70-176. This book help me prepare for the test. It was a good idea to combine in the same book two exams (70-175 & 70-176). This way I discover that the two exams seems to cover the same objectives (like 60% of both exams is dealing with the same stuff - COM & ActiveX, configure VB6 IDE, package&deployment, logical&physical design, creating data services and testing the solution).

This is not a book for learning but is a good prepare book for the exam even if I didn't find any question from book in the real test.

This book combined with the other New Riders books dedicated to VB6 exams are everything that I needed to pass the exam. This book was an excellend resource and I used it (+ the New Riders 70-175 & 70-176 books) to pass both the Desktop and Distributed exams. Having VB experience is also necessary to pass. You can't JUST buy books and go in and take exams - you need experience too so you know how to handle Microsoft's scenario questions! But overall, this book clearly is not only sufficient enough to pass, but to comfortably pass (I scored in the 900's). The reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is that some questions have incorrect answers, which I think is ridiculous, but is becoming the norm with exam prep books.

This book was organized very poorly. I do believe that most people take one exam at a time. Now of those people that take one exam at a time, I'll bet you that %99.9999 study for that one exam they are taking. To make a long story short. All of the question for Desktop were mixed up with Distributed. The book really needed to section off the questions for each exam. Heck, even in the full practice exam the questions were mixed. In conclusion, I believe the author either rushed this book out or he is oblivious to good instruction.

I found this book not to be very useful. The questions were not even close to being like the Microsoft exam questions and some of there answers were completely wrong. When I bought this book I figured that it would help me prepare for the exam. It didn't. I didn't expect the questions to be like microsofts but they should have been better than this. It also didn't map very well to exam 70-176. It was designed for 70-175 and from what I have heard about this exam this book would prove useless. Save you money and purchase another product.

This book is a good supplement to other study guides but it is by no means complete. Overall, it covers a lot of different points, sometimes in detail, but never thoroughly. The questions are more difficult and detailed than many study guide practice test. The main problem with the book is that it wastes a lot of paper on so-called explanations. For the most part, the explanation of a test question/answer is a restatement of the question and answer into a declarative sentence with no futher explanation. The format of short tests followed by review really helps to point to where more study is needed and to reinforce concepts. But the explanation section either needs to be expanded to include actual explanations, or be removed from the book altogether.

Liar, Liar, Who is the Liar? More than one reviewer states that the questions in the book are "nothing like" those on the actual test (were they taking 176?) but on the other hand, some say the precise opposite.

Someone must be delusional.

Don't spend your money on this, not worth it. Those questions are not even close to the test.
