a marriage on the rocks, January 21, 2000

This review is from: A Test Of Time (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
A Test of Time, is the follow-up novel, to Chery Faye's winner, A Time For Us. I highly suggest that you read, A Time For Us, first. You will be able to understand herione, Nicole Peterson's insecurities. Mark Peterson is a successful, attractive man who loves his wife. Due to a series of misunderstandings, this beautiful, ambitious couple fight, seperate and eventually reconcile their differences. At times, the reader becomes dismayed and impatient with Mark and Nicole, however Faye keeps you abreast of their thoughts and feelings toward each other throughout the novel. This is a must-read, because the author tackles the reality of a marriage that could be headed for divorce.

A Fantastic Follow-up To "A Time For Us", November 4, 1999

Cheryl, you did an outstanding job illustrating what married couples are often faced with, its not always a bed of roses. In this particular story, issues of insecurities and lack of understanding was facing this couple. It may seem to some readers as an over-kill as it was put in a review, but most of us who are married or been married understand the dynamics that come with being married. In this story and even in the real-world problems like this cannot always be fixed overnight. It's like the story in the bible about JOB, he definitely went through quite a bit and it was not resolved overnight, as he learned what patience was all about. So readers, when you read this story keep in mind whatever excess issues you bring into a marriage that is not resolved has a great potential to get out of hand. Thank you Cheryl for revisiting this couple after the wedding to let us all see an illustration of the road married couples often have to travel. As for this story, it was definitely a test, but love did conquer all.

A Love that Will Stand The Test of Time, May 7, 2001
This review is from: A Test Of Time (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
A Test of Time is the Second Installment in the lives of Mark and Nicole Peterson. We first meet them in A Time For Us. Mark is the owner of a prestigious real estate firm. Nicole is an excellent Administrative Secretary working for his company. Mark is smitten by Nicole's good looks and later her wit and her charm. A Test of Time starts where A Time for Us leaves off. The resort they built is opening and the architect Ms. Ashlei Brown was there. We learned that Ashlei wanted Mark the moment she laid eyes on her. Mark didn't want her though. There is a lot of things going on in this story. I first read A Time For Us and liked it very much. Nicole's intuition about Ms. Ashlei Brown was right on the money. My feeling is that there are a handful of misunderstandings. This was why I was so excited about reading A Test of Time. I figured there was going to be more going on with Ms. Brown in this story and I wasn't wrong. I really don't want to reveal anything, because I think both books are worth reading. At times I got very upset with Mark and Nicole. I think what saved me from not really liking them was their daughter Tiandra. I also liked Nicole's parents and was glad Mark reconciled with his older sister. If you come across A Test of Time before A Time for Us, please find A Time of Us and read it first. It will answer alot of questions, you probably would have about the couple and their family. I have read First Love and the anthology in Mama Dear by Cheryl Faye. I must say she is a very good writer. I would like to know if Yvonne and Lucien will have their story told?
