This is a super cute DVD using claymation animation, like the classic TV Christmas specials RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER and LITTLE DRUMMER BOY! The Bible content is very accurate, though much has been compressed into a 30 minute format. What is here is very good and entertaining! If you are considering this DVD, you cannot go wrong!

This is made by the BBC in the 1990's, as part of a short series of animated Bible stories. Two other Bible stories available on DVD, on amazon.com, also in claymation from the same company are RUTH and JOSEPH, as well! I highly recommend that any Christian should buy all three, and you will not be disappointed!

The low amazon.com price makes it easy to add these to your library of Bible DVDs, and they will be among your best Bible DVDs, you will see!

This company also did some very good, hand drawn animation of about 7 other Bible stories. Those are NOT claymation, but regular cartoons, but they all have a different artistic style, and are very accurate to the Bible stories being told. There is very little to complain about any of these TESTAMENT: THE BIBLE IN ANIMATION series DVDs.

If in doubt, I would suggest that you start with RUTH from this DVD series. It is the most complete and accurate of all the DVDs in the series. It covers just about everything in the Bible book of Ruth, and it is super cute to watch, especially for Christian families! ABRAHAM and JOSEPH are great, but they can't get all the Bible story details into the allotted time, but what they show is all great, entertaining, and faithful to the Bible.

I wish they would show the covers to these DVDs, or some of the photos from the backs of the DVD packages, then more folks would see how nice of a job the animators did with the claymation Bible characters.

This is the biblical the story of Abraham, of the Old Testament in the bible. It is a great version of this story. It is in stop motion animation, or claymation perhaps. This is not made for kids, but for all ages. The story is smart and intelligent. The animation is very high quality and stylized, and the story flows in such a way as to keep an adult very interested. There are some changes made to keep the story flowing, but nothing insulting. The quality of the DVD itself was good, a very clean picture that appears remastered, and clean sound.

The series, produced over 10 years ago by Christmas films in Wales and Russia for the BBC, is not made for kids, but for all ages. I believe HBO family channel ran these for awhile a few years ago. There are other DVD's in the series that are stand alone title's, also about 30 minutes each. The series includes "Daniel", "David and Saul","Moses", "Jonah", "The Creation and Noah", "Elijah" (my favorite), "Ruth", "Joseph", and Abraham. The last 3 are in claymation or stop motion animation, like the holiday TV specials).
But if you want a good deal, there is another set from the same company that has 4 of the 30 minute stories from this Testament series in a 2 DVD box set. "Testament: The Bible in Animation Collection" is the title to search for, and Amazon.com is where I bought it. The price is almost the same as buying one individual story. That set has Jonah, Abraham, Elijah, and the Creation/Noah story.
