5.0 out of 5 stars amazing
i was blown away by this book. the collaboration of artists make this one of the best visuals i have read in a long time.
Jim Krueger weaves a tale that is as old as human history and brings a fresh take on it.
My favorites are the creation story and Abraham. I have bought multiple copies of this book and have given them as gifts. i haven't met anyone has...

1.0 out of 5 stars False advertising.
"Testament by Bill Sienkiewicz" contains exactly six pages (hurriedly) painted by Mr. sienkiewicz. What's left after that is an overwritten attempt to resuscitate the Old Testament of the Bible, illustrated by comic artists of wildly variable talents. Some of the artists are very talented, but none of them seem to have spent much time on this project. The writing is...

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtaking art; fresh take on an old story, August 19, 2006

I am not sure what the fellow who found the artwork in Testament "rushed" is talking about. His feedback almost made me not purchase this book, but I am ecstatic that I did. In my 34 years, I've not seen a more breathtaking graphic novel than this one. Page after page of stunning, lush visuals - deep, challenging artwork that draws you in. This is not the cheap, flashy artwork of today's disposable comics. This book is a visual feast. I bought the book expecting to be underwhelmed by the story and the artwork - I bought "Samson" by the same publisher, and it was lacking. But this is the finest collection of graphic art in my collection.

The story is fairly well-told, with some fresh ideas, but is mostly a breezy way to tie all the stories of the Old Testament together. That in itself is a worthy goal, and it is pretty successful. But the real selling point for this book is the art. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful art! I have rarely seen better art in comics - and I've read a lot of them!

The story is a bit disjointed- it tries to squeeze the entire Old Testament into around 100 pages- but interesting. It might be confusing for somebody completely unfamiliar with the Old Testament, but even a passing familiarity should be enough to follow the story.
