Editorial Reviews

Peter (Steve Markle) and Ron (Jeff Kassel) are two down-on-their-luck best friends, who volunteer as guinea pigs for “TESTICO” – a bizarre product testing facility. From unknown sex-changing drugs to a vacuum cleaner with artificial intelligence, the two friends must deal with a range of ridiculous and hilarious scenarios.

Created by Kenny Hotz, the screwball nutcase who gave the world KENNY VS SPENNY, this outrageously-twisted show is laugh-out-loud comedy that will leave a weird taste in your mouth – and a side effect or two!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastically Funny! April 16, 2011

Came across this series while up late one night watching TV, woke my wife up laughing so hard. It's a great show, and the shame is - it ended too soon. Very funny, low brow humor, but who can't think about "The Impaler", "Nami, Queen of the Stallions" and "Jellybean Omelet" without chuckling out loud?!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply brilliant!! April 21, 2011
By Daniel
I fell in love with this show as soon as I saw it! This is the first and probably last review I will write on here, but it had to be about this show. Not only funny, but perfectly written and perfect timing. The only bad thing about this show is that it was cancelled after the first season.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have seen it and now I'm buying it! January 29, 2011
Highly recommended. So funny that you will hurt in your chest for hours after watching. Subversive humor. Low brow but not John Waters disgusting. Do not watch with children under 14 due to subject matter. Whenever I think of the episodes now I just have to laugh and laugh and laugh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guilty Pleasure August 21, 2011
This series is a guilty pleasure. It's hard to figure out how I could get to like these two slackers so much. The humor is crude.

Ron and Peter work for Testico as human testers for the things Testico manufactures. The two live in a small two bedroom one bath apartment with hand me down furniture (more like stuff they collected at the curb) in a Pacific Northwest city. Their full time job is testing stuff giving feedback to Dr. Ng the head of research at Testico. The range of stuff they test is crazy, a robotic vacuum cleaner, a paranoia drug, to a perfume that attracts women.

The fact that they are "testees" and work for Testico evokes the word for male genitalia. The humor is mostly centered below the waist. But there is an interesting twist to the main joke in each episode. The perfume to attract women was an excellent parody of the Blair Witch Project and zombie movies. There's more going on here than just the random kick to the groin.

The first episode does start out slowly. By episode two and three, the series settles into a rhythm with some really funny jokes.

Ron is the more normal looking of the pair - yes he could be the Felix Unger (The Odd Couple) of the pair. Jeff Kassel does an excellent job with this character, he's the smarter of the two, but is also prone to lying. By far my favorite of the pair is Peter played by Steve Markle. He is the opposite of Ron, the Oscar Madison. He is honest and innocent to a fault. And there in lies his charm. About midway through season one they killed off the "hottie" of the show, Kate played by the beautiful Kim Schraner. In an episode her bar burns down, and she's never heard from again. The biggest clown in the series is Nugget, the schlub slacker that works in the bar, played by Joe Pingue.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the funniest shows ever aired March 27, 2011
Incredible humor. It's a shame it only lasted two seasons. If you like Better Off Ted, chances are you'll like Testees.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding toilet humor April 8, 2011
Verified Purchase
Yes, it's about time they released this in the USA region. For the longest time it was only available in Australia.
I watched this show every chance I got when it was on TV. It got funnier and funnier every new episode but for some reason was a very short season.
This is definately toilet humor at it's best. Not for young kids. But...If you remember being young yourself, seeing Monty Python or South Park late at night knowing you might get into trouble? This is that type of show.
If you are apprehensive in buying the dvd, watch the download on Amazon first. You will most likely end up buying it.
UPDATE:
There are 12-13 season episodes and 22 mini-episodes (sort of outtakes) in the bonus features. Well worth the watch for a good laugh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best show that no one has heard of.... February 1, 2011
This show is the best kept secret in television. I usually don't like to recommend anything, but I literally peed myself watching one of the episodes while the rest had me laughing out loud to myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the funniest shows ever September 25, 2011

I was so sad that this series only lasted for one season, and then it was not available for purchase for a very long time. My husband and I just watched the entire DVD and were laughing just as much as the first time we saw the shows on TV. The show is ridiculous, crude, and outrageously entertaining.
