Competent performance from 1994 in the bop tradition,

This set starts out with three well-played covers, Ellington's "Come Sunday", Cedar Walton's "Holy Land", and "The Message", which reveal both the influences and aims of this set. The remaining originals are certainly derivative, but have some memorable themes. Good solos throughout, with every one getting a turn on the title track, "Testimonial". Nothing revolutionary occurs, but fans of hard-bop and neo-bop will find this an enjoyable listen.Carl Allen - Drums, Producer Vincent Herring - Saxophone
