I bought this album on a whim - I never heard of this artist before (she hasn't reached us here in Ireland!) but I liked the sample music I was hearing on Amazon.com. When I got her album, it blew my mind! It is fantastic. I LOVE it and can't stop listening to it!! Dana Glover's music is fantastic, each song is a gem and worth listenting to. For a debut album it is a very strong piece of work. Her music style is a good mix of gospel and jazz.
She is a woman of many talents - singer, musician, writer... None of her songs disappoint. She has a very strong, wonderful voice and is a talented musician. I eagerly await her second album and hope it comes out soon!

Dana Glover is familiar - yet unique. We know her style thanks to the recent sucess of Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton... a young woman with an instrument, and a talent - but she is a young woman with a voice and a talent that blows any competition away. Her gorgeous and ever so real and slightly raspy voice might remind you of a young Amy Grant - yet she delivers the most brilliant, heartfelt and beautiful performance presented to the American public in over a decade.
This woman is the real deal. She is a gift to the world of music. Her songs made me cry and laugh... it sounds so cliche... but she really does it. She is so talented and on the verge of exploding... you need to own this album before it is a collector's item on ebay.
And no, I do not know her. But, anyone who appriciates music needs to own this album. It is seriously the best, most beautiful, most solid recording I have heard in many years. Bluesy - Norah Jones fans will love it... Pretty... Sarah McLaughin fans will love it... Jazzy - Nikka Costa fans will love it. This woman has it all. She is the next big thing. Get this album now. You will not regret it.

I picked this up at Borders recently and (mistakenly) thought "Oh--another hot chick with a CD; no news here". Honestly, it seems like every time you turn around record labels put out a CD with a pretty face and a mediocre talent.

When I actually scanned each song, though, I was impressed. Enough so I ended up buying it. More importantly, I've listened to it repeatedly over the last two weeks. The first song "Rain" starts with so much energy and urgency and the rest of the album doesn't disappoint either.

Solid songwriting, strong musical backing and well-sung songs from a beautiful voice. Great stuff.

This girl deserves much more recognition & airplay in mainstream. I was familiar with the song "Thinking Over" then she was on Extra & I was captivated. Her music is real. She's absolutely beautiful & is an outstanding pianist, vocalist, & performer. I have a profound respect for musicians that can write & perform their own music. Her voice is unique & powerful. It annoys me when these real artists/musicians are set aside from mainstream while there is other studio engineered...that rises up the charts (not all, but some). Dana Glover is a true musical talent & rises above alot of the mainstream music thats out there. Her record company needs to spend more $, time, & publicity to promote her; otherwise, it's a real waste to radio & music fans. I hope that the same thing happens with Dana as has happened with Nora Jones. A slow start, but momentum picks up after her talent is heard. I love all types of music (pop, rock, classical/instrumental, R&B, easy listening, cont. country - whatever the mood) & highly recommend this CD for anyone who appreciates musical diversity. GO GET THIS CD & SPREAD THE WORD.

After having this cd for 4 years, I still listen to it all the time, she sings from the heart, I only hope there will be more to come from this very talented performer!

I bought this cd because I liked one song on it (Thinking over)that I had first heard on a television show. I could not believe my ears! I fell in love with every song. I was extremely impressed with the first song, "Rain", and was equally impressed with every song there after. What a talented artist. I can't wait to get more Dana Glover cd's. If you like Sara McLachlan and/or Heather Nova, you should definitely like, or love as in my case, Dana Glover's Testimony.

Dana Glover's breakout self-penned hit, the tear-jerking ballad "Thinking Over," is probably one of the best songs written in years. Her debut album Testiomy is like its name suggests: a testimony to a darn good up-and-coming singer/songwriter. Don't mistake this girl for being just a pretty face. There's a rare talent that's worth the time to listen. Dana Glover is a kindred spirit and a breath of fresh air in today's sea of pop artists. Though her voice may appear to be a rip-off of Britney's trademark throatiness, there's a deeper, huskier sound here that's totally new to the pop/rock music market, and is distinctive enough to be its own and not just a soundalike. Dana Glover is a kindred spirit, and a great listen!

Dana Glover is Amazing! I really do not know how to describe her music, other than awesome! All of my friends who hear the CD playing in my car or house LOVE her! every one wants a copy of her CD! What I love about her is that she has her own unique sound, and it is actually HER music! She is a true artist, not some pretty chick with a good body who sings some pop song someone else wrote! she is amazing. You are a fool not to buy this CD! She is my favorite! And, NO, she does not just sing about bad relationships, maybe like 1 or 2 songs! Her song "testimony" is an awesome song about about one's tesitomy of love! Love her stuff!!!!

Dana Glover is truly one of those treasures the rest of the world has yet to discover. This girl really has a powerful voice. Beautiful with a little bit of grit to it. Not only does she have a great voice, she is also talented enough to write her own material. I look forward to hearing much more of her work in the future.

"Testimony" is a true testimony to the brilliantly talented Dana Glover.

The lady's got the whole package: she writes the songs; she plays the piano (and sax!); she gives amazing live performances (whether it be the Tonight Show, or an intimate session with Rolling Stone magazine); she exhibits grace and a deep sincerity during interviews; and to boot -- the girl's got the looks and can sashay her way down the runway.

"Testimony" packs the kind of music I wish I'd heard during my early church-going years. A graceful kick in the ... of my soul, that would have kept me awake during some humdrum Bible studies and lulling choir performances (I wasn't exposed to a Black gospel choir, nor a Southern gospel kind of a choir, I'm afraid). Dana's music lifts up my spirits and invites me to live my life to the fullest, "cherish every moment", and be happy that despite the current goings-on, there is always beautiful music to soothe the soul.

If you feel that the worries of this world is getting you down, or are just in the mood for some good ol' soul and lovely music, then pick yourself up a copy of "Testimony". It's a sure "spirit picker-upper". -- NT
