A powerful telepathic report of experiences after death.,

This review is from: Testimony of Light (Paperback)
It is so rare to discover a book that awakens profound truths within one's own heart. Testimony of Light is a powerful candid view of life after death as experienced by Sister Frances Mary and sent to Helen Greaves through mental telepathy. The communion between these two women (who were close friends before Francis Banks died) and who are now on different sides of the veil was achieved without effort as a natural outpouring of their mental telepathic skills. Even though Sister Francis was a Catholic nun, her experiences after death move far beyond the pictures of any religion and embrace the universal. With deep compassion and clear descriptions of her continued expansion, Francis Banks shares story after story as she works in the half-way house to assist many newly arrived souls to make the adjustment to life without a physical body. As I read it I felt that I was in touch with a rare soul who had vision, deep understanding of a spiritual life, and an adv! enturous spirit. Francis Bank's humility revealed her depth of knowledge as she faced new experiences on the astral plane in the attempt to learn and to aid others. Many people come to me after the death of a loved one and I always recommend this book--regardless of their religious or non-religious beliefs. I have given away at least 20 copies to my friends in grief. Without exception all have called to say that reading this book was the single most inspiring and healing knowledge that has come to them. They point out that it has changed their whole view of life and death and awakened them to the wonderful possibilities that are right in front of all of us right now. Do not wait for a period of grief to read this book. It will create a flowering of your soul and mind at any time, and will inspire you to love and to forgive past all measure. If you have the least anxiety about death or a fear that the material life may be all there is, Testimony of Light can lift ! you to a far greater vision and stimulate in your heart an ! energizing response that expands and enriches your life.

Purpose of Existence--Get and Give More Spirtual Light,
By Charles J. Naegele (San Jose, California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Testimony of Light (Paperback)
A wonderful and spiritually uplifting book that powerfully conveys as truth--that life-after-death time is spent teaching others to receive more Light (Spiritual Light) and being taught by even Higher Light Beings to receive more Light. The book is a telepathic after-death transmission from an ex-Anglican nun who lived in South Africa to her living friend. Highlights: Heaven is not a Welfare State. The reward for a job well done is... more work. A garden of Light refreshes one, when needed. A web of light protection is needed when teaching certain people with lots of negativity. Additional protection in the form of a Higher Being of Light is needed when visiting super-negative people. The type of work that one does on earth is often continued beyond death. Reincarnation is a possibility for some. We are all part of and responsible for a group of people and their spiritual progress. After death, one is handed two blueprints: what your life could have been and what your life was. Some people go into shock for 20 years after seeing the difference in the two blueprints. Reading this book has changed my life by giving me clearer thoughts and language to express spiritual thoughts to others. This book reminded me of the C.S. Lewis book, The Great Divorce, another great description of Heaven and the Hell that people make for themselves. I wish you lots of Spiritual Light when reading and sharing this book.

This is the most plausible, most interesting, and most inspiring afterlife account I've ever read, and I've read a bunch of them. A fine intelligence is at the helm throughout. One of the book's special assets is the many descriptions of people she meets over there, some of whom live in the "shadows"--or what we might call hell. Hope is held out for everyone, but cheap grace is not to be found: your experience over there is calibrated to your moral and spiritual maturity in this world. The book is a riveting appeal to live life wisely before death. You will want to after reading this very remarkable book.
Is it really what it claims to be--an account from someone living Over There? In my view it's too full of surprises to be fiction. It has none of the predictability of Sylvia Browne's easy reads. Even if it is fiction, it's fiction so full of insight that it's well worth reading in its own right. I'm a college professor, by the way, and it is the crown jewel of my death course. Religious fundamentalists and diehard atheists often detest the book. Most people in between love it. That in itself is a great advertisement.

People with poor reading comprehension should refrain from comment,

First, let me say that this book was beyond revelation for me personally. The validation I received from this book propelled me into delving deeper into my own psychic development. I have given countless copies to others I have encountered along my spiritual path - some get it, some don't. That's alright, as Frances explains in her book, we are all of us on an individual level of learning.
So now, after reading the reviews here, I want anyone who is reading this to realize that if a review seems negative, it's probably coming from someone who is not yet ready to receive the messages contained in this book. I would not recommend this book to a novice unless they had a sincere and deep desire for spiritual enlightenment. I would also like to correct one reviewers comment. This book was NOT written in collaboration with two nuns. Helen Greaves was not ever a nun - also, Frances Banks was a nun for only 25 years of her 72 on this earth. Helen and Frances met through an organization called "Churches Fellowship for Psychical Study" in England. They shared a mutual interest in psychic phenomenon, specifically ESP. Another false statement made by another reviewer was that this book was a Christian "spam" campaign or other. You will not read anything about an existence of a "devil" nor of a "firey hell" as someone claimed the book speaks of. This is an untruth. What you will find as another reviewer so eloquently held, a "human" account of a very human experience. True, the book is only circumstantial evidence of life after death. I submit to you that whether you believe in God or not, he/she/it does exist. Whether you believe it or not, there is an afterlife. I found Ms. Banks account to be in laymans terms that anyone should be able to understand if they would only open their mind and heart to the possibility that there is a greater power than ourselves. Arrogance and ignorance will get noone closer to "the truth", read it for yourself and you decide. To the people who had to make up passages or insinuate mistruths about a book they obviously felt threatened their personal space, I say "what a shame that you wasted an opportunity for true spiritual enlightenment, and I sincerely hope that another window opens for you to see what you have previously blinded yourself to." Love and Light to All

Unlike "A reader" (the reviewer two reviews earlier), I checked the date that this book was originally written and published in relation to Sylvia Browne's books. "A reader" claims that this book is "recycled trash", just rehashing what Sylvia Browne has written for years. If so, Helen Greaves must truly have been clairvoyant, as "Testimony of Light" was written in 1968, 30 years before Sylvia began publishing her excellent books.
I found this book very useful, almost as a text book on how to prioritise one's life on earth. It reinforces what many of us already intuitively know about "life after death", but more importantly, it gives our vague thoughts on the subject structure and depth, allowing us to grasp what we already know much more firmly, and build on these firmer foundations. It's easy reading (albeit somewhat slow and heavy for the first 15 pages) but it's worth reading the forewords and introductions and it does put the characters in context.

A precious and inspiring account of life (after death),
By Amida (West Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Testimony of Light (Paperback)
This exceptional book throws open a window to a number of beautiful dimensions of the "after-life". A lady who was committed to her spiritual life (love, inner peace, honesty with self and others) 'dies' and manages to contact her best friend on earth with the story of the many wondrous experiences after her 'death'. Her vivid account goes into great detail about her arrival in one of the beautiful astral realms. It begins with with her initial rest there, unfolding into her orientation to the freer and fuller life. Due to her well developed spiritual nature, her open heart and mind, and the help of old friends she finds there, she adjusts very quickly. She soon helps a great variety of other souls themselves recently "crossed over". Her words vividly portray the dimensions of wonder, insight, joy, peace, love, and learning she experiences. Later in the book she grows/learns/remembers sufficiently to begin traveling on to even higher dimensions of love and light, realms where earthly language begin to fail completely.
This book offers great clarity into several dimensions of ('after') life. Her story tells of becoming progressively more aware of the light and transcendent grace in everything. At her own perfect and beautiful pace she moves onwards, upwards (& inwards) through very beautiful, very real dimensions of eternal being. This rare account of one 'after-life' is deeply moving in its authenticity. Her own experiences and insights compliment my own understanding of these beautiful dimensions (during a deep Near Death like experience). I highly recommend this book.

I had the fortune to have been introduced to this work by a spiritual "reader" and have shared it countless times with others searching on their paths. It is divinely appointed, it would seem, and is probably the richest yet to connect our soul with our physical presence. The reprinting of it goes along with tenets of "The Celestine Prophecy" in that we are entering the Age of Spirituality rather immediately and this gives us all great peace, and faith and hope and truly, knowledge that everything that happens is meant to happen and in ways only the masters know. No accidents, no coincidences, we are all, each and every one, a blessed entity on a delicious journey.

Having myself crossed over to the other side through a near death experience, I can verify that the experiences that the late Frances Banks conveyed to Helen Greaves are very real.
Frances Banks testimony of light gives to us a gift of wonderful expectations beyond our present life here on earth. It will make one less afraid of passing over and help us in the transition that all of us must take sooner or later. Since death is such a taboo subject it is refreshing to see many books that give to us a positive look at the other side. Let us prepare ourselves so that we are not left in darkness but are able to move onto the light now and for all eternity.

Helpful to those who are grieving,

This book is the story of a nun in South Africa who died and then began to communicate through a fellow nun who was left behind. It was loaned to me by an individual who had lost her mother. She found it helpful to her in forming an image of the kind of experience her mother might be having in the life beyond this one. I have since loaned it to others who are grieving or who are interested in alternative points of view about the nature of reality. To me, the book is written in a way that is quite believable. The emphasis is on light and love, and although it is about death, it is uplifting at every point. I am open to a variety of spiritual and religious points of view (i. e., Eckankar, Zen Buddhism, and Sufism as well as aspects of Christianity and the Jewish religion), but I find this book particularly useful to share with students or friends who may be grieving, but who wish to stay somewhat close to the Christian view. Aside from those who are grieving, I have found that friends who enjoyed the following books, also enjoyed this one: Embraced by the Light, Mutant Message Down Under, The Celestine Prophecies

A wonderful read. Once you start reading you will not be able to put it down until it is finished. It will give the reader a peak at the other side of this dream life of ours. It confirms what I have felt, and believed. I highly recomend this book for those who are exploring their spiritual paths in life.
There are many things that are talked about in this book that feel right but are certainly not something you would have read about before in your normal religious books or from yeven from your church training as a child or as an adult. You have to be open to the possiblites to get something out of this book - a closed mind will lose much! |
