Worthwhile, January 1, 2009

This is a solo recording from the great bassist William Parker. Normally, I'm not a big fan of solo bass recordings, but William Parker is an exception. His work is consistently fascinating and satisfying, though difficult. This was recording at the Knitting Factory in NYC on Dec. 28th, 1994. Well worth repeated listening.
This CD is apparently out of print, so get it while you can.
