An incredibly talented band--musically and lyrically,

Orlando is known as a hotbed for nationally talented bands such as Seven Mary Three and Matchbox 20. Big 10-4 is the next great band to come out of the area.
Big 10-4 perfected its energetic rock sound at open mic nights and at local venues like The Social and Devaney's while playing to the young UCF crowd, where the band has a cult following of sorts. The songs on the album, Testing the Atmosphere, reprise their successful locally distributed EP, Bumpersticker Philosophies. By adding a mixture of new guitar and piano driven rock music with roots from Third Eye Blind and Matchbox 20, Big 10-4 created a sound and aura of its own. Working with producer Matt Wallace, who is known by his hit albums with Train and Maroon 5, the band successfully and impressively redefines what modern rock music should be. "No offense to other bands, but I wrote this song about the music industry," remarked lead singer Dan Verduin at the Florida Music Festival 2006, referring to the first song on the album, "Walking Disaster", a tale of how Big 10-4 strived for its own unique sound while refusing to compromise their integrity with demanding record labels. What emerged is "Testing the Atmosphere," the first great album from the next great Orlando band.

Cutting Edge,

If you've never been one to be on the cutting edge as far as music goes, Big 10-4 could be the difference. I purchased the album on a whim and a suggestion from a dedicated fan, wondering if it would live up to what I had been told. And live up it did. Beyond my expectations. Buy the album now and you'll be one-up on the music industry. Industry reviews have compared Dan Verduin's lyrics and the band's music to the stylings of Tom Petty, Matchbox 20, Third Eye Blind, etc.

I initially bought this CD for 3 songs but after buying the CD I couldn't get enough of BIG 10-4's music. I think the band has a lot of potential-and this CD proves it. This is definitely a CD you can just put in the CD player and listen straight threw without wanting to skip all the crappy songs.

AMAZING, my ears have died and gone to heaven,

Who said Rock is dead? Well whoever did obviously didn't listen to "Testing the Atmosphere". I couldn't believe my ears when I heard this record; it contained all the right ingredients for a blissful Rock N' Roll stew: huge guitars, exploding drums, thumping bass, incredibly thought provoking lyrics delivered by a powerhouse of a voice. The timbre of the vocalist is so refreshing, finally a vocalist I can listen to that has a true distinctive voice that doesn't fall at the wayside bunched up with all the wanna-be's and posers that can't deliver.
This album is so hot it made my ear wax melt!!! Some of the sizzling tracks are "Walking Disaster", "Tangled", "Irony is Thick", "Smell of Familiar", "Deadman".....I have to stop now or else I would have listed the entire album. I rate Big 10-4's "Testing the Atmosphere" with the highest caliber and above.

If you've been searching for the ultimate new rock band, look no futher! I read the reviews and bought this CD. It arrived last week and I can't stop listening to it.
You can hear classic rock from the '60's and 70's with a 21st century spin that makes everything new. Tight guitars, great vocals and a drummer that kicks this band to the next level. Listen to the samples and listen for yourself. I can't wait until they come to the midwest to hear them LIVE!

BIG 10 -4 IS AWESOME,
This review is from: Testing the Atmosphere (Audio CD)
They are just good people playing good rock music. They are rock band from Orlando that has made there way up from doing open mic nights to touring the southeast and selling out 600 person venues in Florida. In 2005 they were signed to Universal Records and recorded their album with Matt Wallace(Maroon 5, Faith No More, Train). There record comes out May 16th 2006 and will be in stores everywhere around the United States
