I just took the HESI Exit exam at my school today and passed thanks to this book. This is the ONLY book I used to prepare. The CD that comes with the book is invaluable and gives the user the ability to understand and see the actual test layout beforehand. Most content was covered in the CD, too!

For HESI test-takers, don't waste your money on other books. This is THE tool you need to be successful!

I took the advice of some people who took the HESI before me, and bought this book. To be honest - I got the most out of this book through the CD they provide in the back. I did ALL the practice questions over and over, and I passed the HESI the first time with a 937. Mind you, I had less than a month to study for it. I barely skimmed over the book, I did not have time to!

This review book is thinner than most, and that's the value of it. If you know what's in this book, you'll know the facts you need to pass the NCLEX-RN. It's a great summary of what we learned in nursing school, and the facts are presented in an easy-to-use format, with the most essential information boxed and accented. There is too much to know about nursing to put it all in one book; but, you can be confident that you know what you should know in order to pass the NCLEX-RN by studying this one book. Then, learning testing strategies and taking practice tests is what you'll do before you pass the NCLEX-RN exam.

This book is perfect for any program that requires their students to take the comprehensive HESI test as an exit exam. The questions on the exam are pretty different from the NCLEX -- so this book was really helpful for the HESI specifically.

One of the most helpful items from this book are the HESI Hints --- tidbits scattered throughout the pages highlighted in gray. Some of the test questions on the exam are derived straight from these HESI hints. The most important item in this package however is the CD-rom that comes w/ 4-500 questions. That might not seem a lot but since the HESI questions are so different from the NCLEX it pays to sit down and go through all of the questions & know the rationales for each and every one -- inside & out, even the questions you got right. I must have gone over each section 2-3 times each -- going over the rationales --

I was able to achieve a score of 1100 with less than a month of studying ... to be honest though I did supplement myself w/ some NCLEX practice questions, but for the most part my efforts were concentrated on this book.

If you have to take the HESI ... BUY THIS BOOK! DO ALL THE CD QUESTIONS ---- KNOW THE RATIONALES UP & DOWN --- READ ALL THE HESI HINTS! GOOD LUCK!

Prior to buying this book I read some of the reviews written by other customers on here. Despite some of the convincing negative reviews I read, I followed my gut and purchased the book anyway.

To my surprise, this book is exactly what I needed. Just perfect for me. I don't know why someone would write a negative review about it. The book is for the students that know their material and just need a quick review in case they have forgotten some concepts. (you don't want to be searching through your 10000 page critical care text to review what DIC is when you have your exit exam in 2 weeks). This book gives you a simple snap shot of everything and awakens your memory of these concepts.

The order came swiftly and just as expected. HESI has good products to help with preparation for the NCLEX. I only wish I could take the test questions a few at a time instead of all at once. This would be better use of study time.

The 500 questions on this CD are very similar to the NCLEX. Also, use Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment by Linda LaCharity as a third of the NCLEX is on priority and delegation. Also, use Saunders CD to refresh on fact based questions the questions are more wordy than the real NCLEX though, but Hesi is spot on style wise. HESI CD will not work on a MAC.

I used the Saunders and Lippincott CDs to study for my HESI exit exam, and, even though I am an A student, I failed it. So I bought this book and everything I needed to know was in there. I passed the second time with the highest score in my class. The HESI Hints in the book are invaluable, and the CD questions are harder than those on the actual test. I was scoring about 70% on the CD but I achieved 95th percentile on the exam. The Evolve people are the ones who write the HESI, if you haven't figured that out yet, so their approach is geared for the HESI. Saunders has a lot of info but I felt the CD scoring was too easy, and it didn't help me pass the HESI the first time. I am about to take the NCLEX now and I feel comfortable using the Evolve book pretty much exclusively. I would recommend that those preparing for HESI and NCLEX buy this book, the Kaplan book (for info on how to break down the questions) and maybe one other book with a lot of questions on CD. Update Sept. 15: Just passed NCLEX in 75 questions! I owe a lot to this book!

this book is great, but the information is not as in depth as lets say saunders although its not trying to be. the cd has really hard questions which in my opinion if you make a 70 on them you'll pass hesi, i got a 65 on the test from the cd and i made a 1020. and am now an RN woot

I got this book to review for the hesi exams, after not doing as great on my last one. After reviewing the book and doing the questions I got above a 900 on my ob hesi.It was extremely helpful for me and it put everything a textbook would have in about 70-100pages. It has sections for each subject of nursing. Hoping it helps for the next hesi.
