A Kid's Review
This review is from: Testing Superstition (Audio CD)
The June Spirit's "five minutes of fame" was very short lived. They only completed one full length and an EP and then broke up in early 2003. In my eyes I see it as the June Spirit could have been a lot more then they were. The cd, "Testing Superstition" is filled with amazing lyrics and beats. Each song, may be very emotional, but you know about the song-writers life a lot and can related to it in many ways. Each beat keeps you on your seat waiting to hear the next song. In my opinion this is one cd nobody can be without. I never get tired of hearing the same songs over and over. Even though they are no longer together, lets keep the "spirit" alive by listening to their music.

Bottom line: June spirit rocks out! I have been waiting for this CD to come out for months and it's turned out to be worth every bit of the anticipation it built up. They impose their will of arching melodys and flat out startling cord progressions on you like their your mom. This is so good it makes me shiver. The singer has a distinctively shining voice with solid lyrics to match and a style thats all his own. The band is tight, creative and personifies the irreverent, independent, teen age state of mind that everyone's looking for. "Prologue" is my favorite song, it's way original and way emo, but then again the whole CD is original. If you like: Taking Back Sunday, Saves the Day, Rufio or just good music in general this will be one of your new favorite CD's. If you dont like this CD, then maybe you should re-evaluate the way you listen to music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big Up Ta Jersey, August 26, 2002

The June Spirit spreads there wings in this album. They dive in head first and shack off a lot of the adolesance that they had in the first. Try it. Velvet Elvises 4 Ever.
