4.0 out of 5 stars Testors
Good paint set for the price. To get good results takes patience and practice. Can be used by beginners but a more sessioned hand is better. Save up for a better air brush.

2.0 out of 5 stars Paint is good, but toxic chemicals and useless sprayer
I have 2 very nice double action air brushes, but bought this so my 10 year old son could try a single action airbrush first. On a double action, you press the button for air, then pull back for varying amounts of paint. So to paint it's down, back, forward, up. That sounds simple, but it isn't, especially for kids. I have 2 very nice double action air brushes, but bought this so my 10 year old son could try a single action airbrush first. On a double action, you press the button for air, then pull back for varying amounts of paint. So to paint it's down, back, forward, up. That sounds simple, but it isn't, especially for kids. With a single action airbrush, you simply press for air and paint, so it's much easier.

Unfortunately, this one doesn't work well. A can of spray paint atomizes the paint far better than this does. It looked aweful. Also, the propellant is definately not something you want to use inside! I had stupidly assumed it was compressed air, but it's not. FAR more toxic and flammable. We couldn't even use the propellent in the garage with the door up. It's for way outside only, not something you can use in the winter!

That said, the testors camo paint was great. We ultimately used one of my airbrushes with a compressor, in the garage with a fan to blow the overspray out the door. My son turned a lego police helicopter into a very military looking Chinook. He loves it. He's gotten into WWII history a bit, and is using the paints on legos. They do scratch off fairly easily if you don't scuff the surface some, but that's normal. If you don't already own a compressor, then getting set up to airbrush is pricey. If you have a small compressor and just want to paint models, I would recommend either a Paasche single action H series airbrush or possible the single action "Stubby" airbrush sold by TCP on Amazon.

I highly recommend the paint which you can buy alone. Search for Testors Camo Refill. I'd just avoid the airbrush which doesn't work and the toxic spray propellant.
