Adorable Show, March 20, 2009
This review is from: Volume 1: A Dragon's Tale (Amazon Instant Video)
This show, along with the series, has captured our family's hearts. It is a sweet show about a young girl's quest to be a knight in the kingdom with help from her friend, Dragon. Jane is amusing and funny, with a lanky form, and also strong and loyal. Dragon is 300 years old, looking for his home and other dragons. His nickname for Jane is "Short Life".
My 5 yr old looks forward each night to Jane and the Dragon on Qubo tv. For all that children will enjoy the enchanting graphics and story line, there is also just a touch of adult humor, mostly from Dragon, to keep parents involved in the story line. (It is never tacky or rude.)
The other characters in the story are supporting roles, but each is imperative to Jane's and Dragon's journey. (And each face various issues of their own in dealing with the bumps in life.)
Dragon reiterates the moral of the story after each show, pointing out what occurred and maybe what should have occurred.
Warm, tender, heroic, and humorous, this show is a welcome change from so many of the odd, corny, laborious and often lewd animated shows for children.
