Editorial Reviews

Review

What makes (Teton Rock Climbs) digital guide so user-friendly is the level of detail it provides about every climb. --Andy Orr, Jackson Hole Planet, November 9, 2005

From the Back Cover

Teton Rock Climbs is a great complement to the traditional guidebook and an invaluable addition to the library of all Teton climbers, particularly if you've been climbing here for decades and think you know all the best routes.
Christian Beckwith, Editor Alpinist Magazine

Detailed climbers' eye-view photos of all sections of a climb, alone may be the most revolutionary breakthrough of this digital guide...the climber-centric photos of each climbs' approach, descent and route are the quantum leap of sticky rubber.
Armando Menocal, Exum Mtn. Guide and Founder The Access Fund

This is a guidebook for the new age. For the adherents of the fast and light, just download what you need. The descriptions are clear and uncomplicated, but give you what you need.
Jim McCarthy, climbing pioneer --This text refers to the CD-ROM edition.

This was a little tricky to get going on my computer, but once underway, came through on all promises. A great addition to anyone's library who plans to climb in this area.

I received the cd and tried to play it on my mac (like a normal cd) and it would not work. Days later of effort and still nothing. So I wrote the author (Gams)and explained my problem. He didn't respond quick enough so I asked Amazon for a return. I received the return authorization and then Gams returned my email. He told me that all I had to do was to copy the contents of the disc onto my hard drive and the program would work. It did. So the program is great - pictures, routes, descriptions, etc. but a little bit quirky. I would have given it 5 stars but I had to give the program 246 mb of my hard drive installing it. If you are having trouble with opening the document, just drag it to your drive and have fun.

I initially tried to run this off of the CD as I didn't read the instructions in the jewel case. I called number to the publisher and got Aaron on the phone. Turned out to be the author. He was very helpful. By simply copying the contents of the disc to my mac's hard drive it opened and ran fine. Haven't used the beta yet, but it looks comprehensive. The navigation could be a little more intuitive, but overall it's a good buy.
