Quality Nutrition for Every Pond Fish

A healthy pond starts with quality nutrition. As the makers of the world’s most popular Fish food, TetraPond offers a variety of pond nutrition to meet any need. You can feel good knowing your Koi, Goldfish, and other pond fish are receiving a diet full of beneficial protein, vitamins, and fiber.

Using quality fish food helps keep your pond clearer and cleaner. Foods like TetraPond Pond Sticks and Flakes are highly digestible—meaning nutrients are fully digested and not passed out into the pond to pollute and promote algae growth. It is important to only feed your fish enough food that they will consume within five minutes to avoid clouding water.

The Soft Sticks Advantage

Tetra offers a variety of soft stick diets to provide the best possible nutrition all year round. TetraPond sticks are designed to soften quickly for toothless pond fish and are highly digestible to promote clear water and minimize waste. Take a look below to see which TetraPond Stick diet might be best for your fish.

Keeping Fish in Peak Condition

TetraPond Diets include the proper balance of nutrients to keep you fish in peak condition:

Vitamins: For growth, health, and metabolism. Contains stabilized Vitamin C.

Protein: Contains amino acids for growth and maintenance.

Fats: A concentrated energy source.

Fiber: For healthy and efficient digestion.

Guide to Proper Fish Feeding

Feed at least two to three times daily only as much food as your fish will consume within five minutes. When water temperature is below 50 degrees pond fish should only be fed TetraPond Spring and Fall diet. Fish should not be fed when the temperature is below 39 degrees.

A highly nutritious diet that brings out vibrant reds and yellows on Koi and Ornamental Goldfish. Feed in spring, summer, and fall, when water temperatures are 50 degrees and above. Ideal for all sizes of Koi and Ornamental Goldfish.
Wheat germ’s exceptional digestibility at low temperatures is very important since fish metabolism and the pond’s ammonia-reducing biological activity are greatly diminished in colder months. Feed in spring and fall, when water temperatures are below 50 degrees and above 39 degrees. Ideal for all sizes of Koi and Goldfish.
A high-protein diet containing essential amino acids that help younger fish grow. Feed in late spring and early summer when water temperatures are 50 degrees and above. Ideal for young Koi and Goldfish.
Premium blend of three foods to enhance vitality. Includes Pond Sticks, Koi Vibrance, and Wheat Germ Sticks. Feed in spring, summer, and fall, when water temperatures are 50 degrees and above. Great variety for all pond fish.

This is a good quality food that I have used now for years. Although this food contains corn (corn flour is the first ingredient - the better pond foods are more protein based using fish meal or similiar protein based product as the first ingredient), it is readily eaten by all of my goldfish and koi. What I specially like is that it floats and gets quite soft, soft enough that I have watched immature young goldfish suck in a whole pellet - so I don't have to worry that only the larger fish can eat this. This food is more of a warm weather summer food, especially since it is corn based - so during the cooler months one should feed their fish the spring/fall variety - which is wheat based and is more easily digestible. For all of my pets (fish, bird, dogs, cat) I use a '3 food rule' - feeding them on a daily basis 3 different foods to help ensure variety and guard against any vitamin deficiencies. In the title I do have a warning about feeding this food to white fish, including platinums and multi-colored with white. The reason for that is if you feed this food to them, they will over time develop a yellowish cast. They will no longer be a crisp bright white although they will most likely revert back in a couple months to brighter white once you stop feeding this food. This is due to the type of yellow/red color enhancement that this food contains. There are other color enhancing foods you can feed you fish if you want to avoid the yellowing, and generally those foods will indicate this in their descriptions, such as Saki-Hikari Professional Color Enhancing Koi Diet. I am very pleased with this food, my fish eagerly consume it, and the ingredients are of a good enough quality as long as I supplement with a better quality protein fish food. I can highly recommend this product.Read more ›

I have been using this for my Koi for the past 21/2 years. I once brought a more expensive brand and my Koi would not eat it. This past summer, my Koi had more deeper colors with the reds and oranges really coming out. My fish love these sticks and hate the pellets. I would recommend this to anyone. Also feed this to
small baby Koi that my fish had. They were able to eat this as it gets soft in the water. These fry since last spring when born are now about 5 inches long and healthy.

Very solid food. Will probably last an entire summer in the size, and the bucket is rainproof. My fish seem to like it a lot and it doesn't cloud the water. I can't say it's "improved the color of the fish" as they claim, but I kind of find those claims dubious no matter who makes it so they can have a pass on that. Besides, I didn't exactly have a batch of control fish to measure against, so maybe it has.

I'd recommend this food.

I was glad to find food with just the sticks. Our fish only eat the the sticks, so why bother with the fluffy stuff in the other containers. The price is the best here at Amazon. We have a few "gold-fish" and a Koi. I personally didn't notice any color change in the fish, but I didn't expect it.

I bought this food based on the reviews that seemed favorable. I wanted something that was in a good container that I could keep outside since one of my cats kept ripping open the plastic bags of koi pellets that we would keep in the house. It's a very large weather-proof container and the food should last my fish for quite a few months.

We have two adjoining ponds that we installed about 5-6 years ago. At the time, the materials were brand new and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on fish/koi before the ponds were established, so we bought about 12 feeder goldfish. When I was younger, I'd buy them for my tanks and watch with delight as the brown colored ones got their beautiful black, orange and/or white coloring. Because of that, most of them were brown when we got them. All but 5 died off in the first year. Of the remaining fish, one turned orange and black and another turned mostly orange with some white. The other three stayed brown.

When the weather got warm enough to feed the fish again this year, I started feeding them the pond sticks. A couple of weeks in, I noticed that one of the brown ones had turned mostly white with a spot of orange on his nose and a spot of orange on his tail! So it does kind of work for color, although he's mostly white and two are still brown. Like others, I can't tell if it makes the colors on the other orange ones more vibrant. But the fish really like the sticks and they've fattened up quite a bit this year.

I'll definitely continue to buy this product if available.

UPDATE - 08/29/12
Well, now I'm not sure what to say. The mostly white fish is now completely white, the orange and white one is losing it's orange color, and the orange and black one is losing it's black color.

I have about 40 koi in a good size pond and the fish eat twice a day. This is a good size products or my hungry guys and gals.
The fish love it!
The only reason it gets 4 out of 5 is it still isn't much of a bargain considering the quantity being purchased.
