More comfortable and stylish than Keens at a better price.,

This review is from: Teva Men's Dozer Sandal (Apparel)
Back in the day, Teva's were the only really good sandal out there. Then along came Birkies, Naots, Keens, Crocs, Merrells(still love them) and a bunch of others.
I was at a shoe store in St. Augustine with the intent of buying some Keens. I tried them on and a few others and noticed the Dozer. They were pretty sharp looking and I slipped one on. Couldn't believe how comfortable they were. Great arch support and good sole. I have the brown pair and I wear them on hikes and around town. The sandal feels stable even with a backpack on. I think I shall put them on now.

I like many am a freak when it comes to new items that I need. I research the heck out of things before I buy anything and finally came across the dozers for my expected trip to Costa Rica last week.
I am very hesitant to buy any water/land shoe claiming they never give you blisters. I had a pair of other "amphibious shoes" and they tore my foot till it bled. Needless to say my concern was high when I received them; would I or would I not have a miserable time in Costa Rica. I got them as expected wore them on a few occasions before the trip just to get a feel for them. To my amazement not only did they feel great but they didn't rub at all against my heel. But they are still dry so I was determined to test them in a little more extreme conditions. I wore them the entire time I was in costa rica as my main shoe for the trip. I hiked waterfalls, kayaked, fished, went horseback riding and they held up GREAT!!! I was really impressed when we were hiking the waterfall, they had great grip on the rocks and logs, my foot didnt move around even though they were soked. Overall great shoe/sandal and a true amphibious shoe. I came out blister free and no aches too! Go buy a pair.

Summer Footwear Perfection,
By K. Swanson (Austin, TX United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Teva Men's Dozer Sandal (Apparel)
This is exactly the shoe I've been waiting for. Best of the sandal and running shoe worlds, dang close. Toes are shielded but foot breathes fully. Great for in water or out; pebbles fall through pretty easily. Unbelievably light, like half the weight of the Newports, which to me are nowhere near as good a shoe as the Dozer, and cost 50% more. They're just too bulky; these are like feathers, yet spongy.
I've had mine for two months and couldn't be happier. I got 'em for 40; I'd pay 100. If they last for two summers it will be pure gravy. They're holding up perfectly so far, after 60 straight 100 degree days and plenty of water. They even give me a fair bit of support, and are wonderfully wide. They slip right on and off if you leave them velcroed lightly. They never fall off due to the design. Sooo comfortable, sooo cool in the heat. I can't think of one thing I don't like about the Dozer. A perfect product. Well done, Teva! [Edit: 7/7/10---Still wearing my first pair of Dozers, and though the soles are much thinner due to near-constant use over three years, they are still in one piece, not falling apart in any way, and comfy as all get out. Which is what they make me do! I get outdoors with these and wade in streams with the pooch and run to the pool and just generally love 'em, especially in the really hot weather we have 'round here all spring, summer, and fall. These are indeed the best value in summer footwear that I've ever found, and I will gladly pony up for a new pair in the next year or two. Superb shoe. Thank you to the designers, whoever they may be, and to Teva for building them to last.] [Edit: 9/21/10---Well, they finally started to fall apart a month ago. I hadn't used them in water much since first getting them until this summer, but my frequent wading in streams with our glorious mutt this year caused them to wear pretty hard. The back outside part on each shoe, from heel to top, came loose due perhaps to my mild pronation while walking and adding more stress to that section, so I cut those 1" by 3" strap parts off, making the shoes a little lighter still. The soles are almost worn through now, so it's time for another pair. Frankly, three years of use is good but not stellar, but seeing how light the Dozers are, I guess it's almost inevitable. My Dozer2's are much heavier but in great shape, so I guess that's why they made them so much heavier...to last longer. I prefer the lightness tradeoff with these, but if you stand in water a lot, the Dozer2's are a better call. Nonetheless, these have given me so much comfort and lightness and value in their three year lives that I'll still give them five stars and will buy another pair.] 2115|R1F0AZ1ZG2IEMZ;2115|RWIM60ON9FHSQ;2115|R36N6A9JOOJFSC;
