4.0 out of 5 stars Good, durable pair of sandals
I just bought these, and I have been very pleased with them. I have a number of pros, and a few cons about them.

I had a pair of Tevas in another style. I didn't realize how tender the soles of my feet were until I walked in these. The lining doesn't look rough but I spent some time around the house in them and couldn't get used to them. A good thing is that there is some arch support, unlike in many sandals.

I just bought these, and I have been very pleased with them. I have a number of pros, and a few cons about them.

Pros--they are very comfortable. I think when you look at them, you assume you will get a blister right away, and would need to break them in, but you really don't. They are broken in after a couple of hours, and I have never gotten a blister or any redness on my feet. This is my second pair of them, and I can also say that they are very well made and durable. They are good for rafting/canoeing, or just wearing around at a summer street festival, etc. Very versatile--they are "go anywhere" shoes. My old pair would get a funky smell that I'm sure all Teva owners could relate to, and I washed them about once per week (I wore them everyday). So far, this new pair with the anti-microbial technology has not started to get the smell. I'm not sure how long that will last, but it has held up for one month so far.

Cons--they make your feet sweat a little. They also are not terribly attractive.

Sizing tip: I usually wear a 7.5 in women's shoes, and a size 7 fits me perfectly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable but ran large, October 30, 2008

While very comfortable I agree with the other reviewer that these shoes run large. I'm generally and 8.5-9 so I purchased a 9. They were abit large and I wish I had purchased the 8 instead. Recommend going with smaller size if between sizes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Durable and comfortable, December 22, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this sandal for my wife before our Cancun trip. We own skechers sandals before. But we saw this one in REI and came back to order from Amazon. I would say, my wife absolutely loves it. She was always wearing it through out our Cancun trip where we were always in beaches or outdoor water sports. This one is way better than the skechers one we have. and it looks beautiful also.

Just to tell you guys, TEVA has another model called FI-II model sandal which looks exactly same but the only different is the inner padding for more comfort. But we did not find much difference as I bought one FI-II model for myself and its equally comfortable. But the FI-II model costs way more than this model.

It looks very durable and great for everyday use too. If you are a hiker/camper, I would recommend a pair of this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good old Teva!, March 2, 2009

I just received my pair of Hurricane 3s today, and they're exactly what I wanted. Good old simple plain Teva, the only shoe brand I've ever loved. Very light, very compact (if you want to stick them in your pack or something) and very comfortable, and not too much heel.

They look like they should be very durable too, [edit oct 2011 - same pair, still going strong] which Tevas have proven to be in the past, aside from the time I had the sole of one crack within 2 years of constant wear, but that was a different model. My best pair lasted 7 years (wearing them every day unless it snowed) and never broke. (I only retired them because the tread wore off and the straps got fuzzy.)

The Teva website: [...] has a sizing chart that allows you to find your exact size. I was a 10.5, but I found these on sale in full sizes only, so I ordered the 11 and it turned out to be perfect.

In other reviews I've seen size issues mentioned, mainly that the Tevas run a little large. First I checked the size chart on Teva's web site, and the measurements seemed true to our usual sizes and the length of our feet, so I took a chance and did not order a half size smaller. I bought two pairs of the Teva Hurricane 3's, one women's size 9, one men's size 11; and one Hurricane 2 big kids' size 5. All fit comfortably with a little room to spare, but not too much, and all were easily adjustable for a perfect customized fit, even for my family's wider than average feet. I definitely recommend measuring your feet on a piece of paper and checking Teva's size chart before ordering.

They are very comfortable and well worth the price paid ($39.95, $29.99, and $15.85, respectively), in comparison to less expensive brands that always seem to rub your foot raw in one place or another. We did get an especially good deal by shopping around, since Tevas are known to sell at a significantly higher price, but I like them so much I'd probably purchase a pair at full price if I needed them and couldn't find them at a discount.

All in all, I highly recommend this comfortable, functional and durable athletic sandal. And they're not bad looking either!

I have many foot issues, but I am able to wear these continually. I walk and even work out in the gym wearing them.

I bought the Teva's for beach walking, they were good but several times I had wished that I had bought the thicker sole......too many broken shells and I was walking on some oyster beds. But overall, they were great and I would buy agin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Teva Hurricane 3 Women's sandal, March 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this pair of Teva's to have in addition to my very old Teva's that I still wear some 10 years later! The new Hurricanes are lighter weight, a bit wider but have a neat foot bed that cradles my foot. I like the padded strap that goes around the back of my foot too. When they first arrived I didn't know if I would like the "dots" that are on the foot bed, they're little round depressions that could have something to do with helping your foot to grip? They do make an impression on the bottom of your feet but after wearing them have found that I don't notice them now. They are very comfortable, great for walking the beach, playing in the water & canoeing. Easy on & off.
