5.0 out of 5 stars So glad I bought these
Was looking for a good water shoe diverse enough for wearing on the boat, on the beach, and walking in general on land. I read a bunch of reviews. These shoes live up to all the praise & glad I chose to spend a bit more $ than I expected to. My prior water shoes were Nike, bought on sale for $35, purchased almost 10 years ago. 2.0 out of 5 stars Poor support for bad feet
I have a Morton's Neuroma (pinched nerve) in both feet - one has had surgery & one has not. I need a shoe with good support, but gives my toes plenty of space which is why I practically wear nothing but athletic sandals. I've heard so many good things about Teva that I thought I'd try these. Overall, I was disappointed.

PROS:
-Size 8 shoe actually seems to be a size 8.
-Nice looking sandal.

Cons:
-Materials & construction don't look like they will hold up.
-The heel strap hits the heel in an awkward spot and stretches while you walk rubbing the back of my heel.
-The arch support hits in the wrong place. Maybe this is unique to my foot, but I've never had this happen with any other athletic sandal.
-The sole bends too easily again not giving my foot good support. I need a shoe with a firm sole to keep the pressure off my neuroma. The Teva Toachi bends and puts the stress point exactly where the nerve is on the pad of the foot.

If you have no problems with your feet, then this shoe may work for casual wear. If you have any problems that require you to wear a shoe with good support, then I would not recommend this shoe.

1.0 out of 5 stars great sandal for indoors, July 30, 2010
By far the best fitting sandal i have ever tried. Great shoe if you intend to stay indoors.

Five minutes into my three-week-holiday in Europe the soles fell off. As soon as any water hits the bottom, the soles fall apart. My old Nike sandals lasted more than five years. At $90 i exected more than a day from these Teva sandals.

Nike no longer made them so I had no sense of direction on where to go or what to look for or what I really wanted. Hard to judge shoes like these on the internet. Thanks to all who wrote reviews & helped me make my decision. I was a bit concerned about how comfortable shoes would be with the water drainage technology, etc. I'm thrilled with them. Size is to fit - I'm a 9 1/2 often stuck buying size 10. These 9 1/2's fit perfectly & fit very well & comfortably.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Comfortable, and lots of compliments, June 5, 2009

The sandal is very comfortable- had a sturdy arch and is attractive. The Toachi style is worth the extra money because it is a more sturdy sandal. I am typically a 7, but the 6.5 fit well. This sandal is also great for bunions- as you can adjust the strap across the top.

2.0 out of 5 stars Falling apart, June 22, 2010

I happen to be a huge fan of Teva sandals since they are the only sandals that give my arches the support they need. That being said - this particular pair of sandals have been a disappointment. The arch support is great but the rubber soles keep coming loose from the plastic part. I have had to super glue them back on 3 times and I have only had these sandals for 2 months - don't think these will last me 2 years like I wanted - I'll be surprised if they last the year but I'm hoping since I missed the deadline to return them. At over $60 I expected much better quality. I noticed others on here mentioning the same problem with the soles and I'll do better in the future reading the reviews BEFORE I buy Teva sandals.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fit Well but.... Fell Apart after 3months, August 22, 2010

This review is from: Teva Women's Open Toachi Sandal (Apparel)
Well generally I read all of the reviews and rarely buy anything that doesn't at least give a few good details (or descent reviews). First of all let me say that finding shoes narrow enough but still rugged and comfortable enough for anything that summer may throw at me is definitely a challenge. I wear a 6.5 dress shoe and 7 or 7.5 in athletic shoes and boots. I am always looking for something that is going to be comfortable to be on my feet all day and rugged enough to take my dog for a hike to & around the lake. I thought that I had found it. This sandal is super comfortable and great when wet with very little chaffing. HOWEVER as mentioned by a few previous reviewers... the glue that holds the sole on....disintegrated therefore is now just flapping in the wind after only 3 months of use this summer. Extremely disappointed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Teva goes downhill, July 26, 2010
This review is from: Teva Women's Open Toachi Sandal (Apparel)
I have worn Tevas in the past, and they used to have great arch support and were very comfortable. I bought these because the padding seemed comfortable, but as soon as I wore them for more than 5 minutes, the seams on the heel rubbed so bad that I couldn't wear them. None of the Tevas out now have arch support. Definitely disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable and easily adjustable, July 12, 2010
This review is from: Teva Women's Open Toachi Sandal (Apparel)
I have had a pair for almost 2 years. I love the adjustment - can adjust the velcro over the ankle strap and once you get it right, never have to change it again due to the click close buckle. They were more comfortable than my tennis shoes on a recent trip.
However, like others, the bottom suddenly started falling off - yes that's not a good thing. BUT - after looking on the TEVA site and reviews for this sandal, discovered that TEVA is aware of the problem and have fixed it. I called customer support and they advised me to return them and they'd review. I have a new pair on the way already.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor construction, poor arch support, May 3, 2010
This review is from: Teva Women's Open Toachi Sandal (Apparel)
I purchased these one summer, and by the next summer, the soles came unglued while walking. And I did not wear them that often. They are made with both rubber and a hard plastic, and the rubber came unglued from the plastic...perhaps rubber and plastic are not meant to be glued together, something the manufacturer should have tested.

Also, I had surgery on my foot several years ago (bunionectomy), and I now need very supportive shoes. These appeared to have a good, solid sole and a supportive looking arch, but when wearing them for extended periods of time, my feet would begin to hurt, particularly in the arch area.

Luckily, I paid less than $30 for these at a discount/closeout store, and after my experience, I have a feeling they were discounted due to the poor construction and negative reviews from consumers. So, all in all, I give this model a thumbs down! Don't waste your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, April 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these for our trip to Hawaii. The first day I wore them in the tide pools, and when I went to wear them the next day the sole peeled apart on both shoes at the toe and heel! Never had this happen to other Teva's that I owned.
