4.0 out of 5 stars Teva rugged nylon 2 outdoor sandel
I loved my old Teva's with the soft rubber insole that Teva unfortunately discontinued (Teva S/N 6427). I was forced to try the rugged nylon 2 outdoor sandal as a replacement to my 15 yr. old worn out pair of 6477's. The nylon 2 rugged outdoor are close to being as comfortable as the 6477 but fall slightly short. Still, I would recommend them to anyone who wants to run...

2.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly stiff
Let me start by saying I am a recent Teva convert and have so far loved the sandals and shoes I purchased. These however left me wondering how they got their good reviews. They feel quite "rugged" and stiff. I cannot imagine wearing them without socks. The straps chafe and these are the worst sports sandals I have put on my feet. Otherwise, quality seems pretty good. This review is from: Teva Women's Pretty Rugged 2 Sandal (Apparel)
If you want a really comfortable Teva sandal I recommend Teva Volterra Alp sports sandal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Teva rugged nylon 2 outdoor sandel, July 16, 2009
I loved my old Teva's with the soft rubber insole that Teva unfortunately discontinued (Teva S/N 6427). I was forced to try the rugged nylon 2 outdoor sandal as a replacement to my 15 yr. old worn out pair of 6477's. The nylon 2 rugged outdoor are close to being as comfortable as the 6477 but fall slightly short. Still, I would recommend them to anyone who wants to run weekend errands and needs all day comfort. Plus, I like the flower design much more than the dull color design on my old 6427s. Lots of us non-outdoor adventure seekers wear Tevas' for the comfort value not because we want a sandal that can endure a hike up Mt. Everest. I hope Teva will bring back something like the 6427 sandals with that nice, softer rubber soles. If they last for 15 years who could want more durability than that?

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, July 21, 2008
First, I'd like to state that I did NOT buy this sandal from Amazon, but since Teva lovers LOVE these shoes, they should know the problem. OK - here's the problem: I love Teva sandals too, and have two pairs already. The fact that these came in half sizes looked like a big improvement, since I always have to order the next size up. However - I ordered the half size that I normally wear in other types of shoes, but the foot bed of these Tevas did not feel true to size. The fabric that the straps are made of is very stiff and scratchy. The "padding" on the inside of the straps is much smaller than on the older styles, totally inadequate, in my opinion. Another BIG disappointment is the sole of this style. While I only wore the shoes part of a day around the house, I could tell by looking that the soles would NOT be safe in wet areas. And - I note that other purchasers have already found this to be true. I wish I could have used this pair of shoes, especially since they were on sale at a great price, but I am returning them. I could not have worn them comfortably even if they were free!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as nice as my other Tevas, June 3, 2009
By
I got these Tevas to replace my worn out ones. I don't know what the model was of the older ones, but they were the cheapest ones I could find at the time.

When comparing the two, the straps are significantly narrower on the Pretty Rugged 2's, and they cut into my big toe. The velcro is as wide on both of them, but the soft foamy under side, under the velcro, was only as wide as the velcro on the new shoes. On the old shoes it was much wider and provided better padding from the velcro. Just wearing them a few minutes around the house left a red dent in my big toe.

They have an interestingly springy sole which felt like it might be comfortable if I had kept the shoes, but the arch support felt less supporting.

Also, the triangle shaped piece of plastic that holds the straps together at the ankle was much smaller and had less padding than my older Tevas.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoe, but velcro chafes foot, February 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The shoe is great for walking and especially hiking through water. The only problem is that I have a narrow foot so to have the shoe fit properly I have to pull the straps as tight as they will go. This eventually means that the straps start to chafe, if I loosen the straps the shoe doesn't fit as well. Its like a catch 22. Otherwise they're good shoes, and offer great foot support. If you have an average sized foot these are for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Second pair! What a shoe!, September 28, 2009

My last pair is over 10 years old and I needed a new pair of Tevas. I wanted them to be the same style I had before, but knew there was little chance in finding the exact same pair. After some researching on the web, I discovered that these are the new and improved sandals of the ones that I have and love. With just some minor changes to the original sandal, these are just as comfortable and dependable as my old pair. A perfect fit, and no breaking in required. They go with jeans, shorts, capris, in the water, out of water, you name it, this shoe is up to the occasion. And they are feminine too!

3.0 out of 5 stars I love my Teva's...BUT, March 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have an active outdoor life and live in my Teva's, and I have been wearing Teva's as my primary footwear for the last 15yrs. I like them and haven't found a water sandal I like better, BUT I have been very discouraged with the sole of the sandal coming unglued from the footpad, it seems like the soles fall apart way before the sandal is worn out in any other way. I almost didn't get this pair because I was so frustrated by the short life of my last pair. I do find them comfortable, breathable, un-confining and ok to walk in when they are wet. When walking down steep hills with wet or muddy feet your feet can tend to slip out the front of the sandal, which wouldn't happen so much with a closed toe sandal. But the trade off is that with the open toe Pretty Rugged style pebbles that might get under your feet are easy to dislodge where as they have a tendency to rattle around in a closed toe sandal.

Gran (Tavares, FL) - See all my reviews
These are the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn. I bought my first pair of Teva's 3 years ago and now I can't get along without them. And ordering through Amazon was the best way to go. Quick, easy, fast delivery and I saved over half the price advertized everywhere else.
