I did the trial set-up at home (highly recommend) and when I got to the camp site, I had this thing up in 15 minutes. I did have to use the guy lines to help stabilize it but I think that was because the ground wasn't completely level. I didn't use the rain cover at first, but in the end, decided to put it on because it seemed to add stability to the unit. Also, I didn't think I'd need to use the floor because I was on sandy desert ground...but I should have put that on because I was soon squishing in silty-slippery sandy desert mud in no time. Live and learn.
The included 5-gallon solar shower is great, but I found that filling it all the way up was a little much for the time of year and amount of sun available...my first shower was cold! But subsequent days, with less water in the bag, the temp was just fine. However, keep in mind that these types of shower bags are still gravity-fed, so you'll be bending over to get your head wet, body rinsed, etc. I think for the next trip I'll add a hot-water-on-demand-shower-pump to my car-camping gear.
Overall, great product, well made, sturdy and easy to assemble on my own sans help from hubbie. Keep in mind, though, this is a heavy piece of equipment and likely not something you want to hike-in with for any great distance. Great for car-camping, though.
I highly recommend this shower over any of the other flimsy ones out there which will leave you standing at the campsite in your birthday suit while rest of the camp ground checks you out. haha.
Initial setup is pretty easy. If you have any experience setting up tents, this is a piece of cake. Put together the top portion first and then simply attach the leg and stand it up. The shelter material goes on the inside of the frame via clips (so don't try to stretch it over the outside) while the optional rain cover goes over the top and secures to the outside of the legs as well as ground stakes (optional). Based on other reviews, I decided to use the rain cover to increase stability of the unit.
Assembly is easiest with two people; you need someone on the opposite side of the unit to position the legs to make it even. On uneven ground, you can compensate somewhat by using the stakes and securing the rain cover to them, but your success will be based on how windy it is and how full your shower bladder is, which brings me to my next point, the bladder.
Filled to capacity, the shower bladder weighs 40 lbs. Keep in mind you have to lift the bladder above your head to hang it. I brought a small stool with me for this very purpose. When I did my practice setup, the weight of the bladder immediately began pulling the shelter to one side. Even when I improved on the level, I didn't feel safe standing underneath the full bladder.Read more ›

This shower tent survived Burning Man with ease! Dozens of dusty campers used this, and it's still in one piece. It withstood some serious wind storms. Read morePublished 18 days ago by Holly
Not too shabby. One rod was dented a bit, but already has an internal cable for easy set up. Cross member is very strong for overhead solar bag. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Amazon Customer
