When a grandfather disappears, leaving everything he owns to three beautiful granddaughters that he has never met, he could not have imagined the impact his bequest would have on their lives or the lives of the three young men who are thrown into the mix.****** IN BAD WITH SOMEONE by Rosemary Laurey - When Juliet ffrench inherits The Ragged Rooster, a rowdy bar in Silver Gulch, Texas, she travels from London, determined to make the most of the requirement that she remain in Silver Gulch for three years. The one distraction that Juliet didn't anticipate was Rod Carter, manager of the Rooster. Rod had been told that he would be inheriting the bar needless to say he is not pleased with Juliet's arrival or her determination to stay and run the bar. Once the two put their heads together to investigate repeated strange happenings around the bar, could a joining of their hearts be far behind?****** RUN OF BAD LUCK by Karen Kelley - Nina Harris arrives at Maddock's Dream, the ranch she recently inherited from her grandfather, just in time to witness a real cowboy breaking a wild horse. Nina is used to seeing beautiful male bodies as a male centerfold photographer, but those men don't hold a candle to Lance Colby, the ranch foreman. Lance doesn't understand why any red-blooded male would take off his clothes to pose in a women's nudie magazine, but taking his clothes off to be with Nina was an assignment he was more than just a little interested in, despite the fact that she has inherited the ranch that her grandfather had promised to him. Nina and Lance get to know each other very well, very quickly, and while their relationship heats up, they are faced with some odd occurrences around the ranch. Can these young lovers work together in spite of the deceit that brought them together?****** COME TO A BAD END by Dianne Castell - Lillie June's new spa is the talk of the town in Silver Gulch. The women love it because they're pampered, eating healthier and getting themselves in shape. The men hate it - for the same reasons. They don't want smelly, relaxing candles in their homes or to be forced to eat healthy, gravy-free meals. Sheriff John Snow has been chosen to talk to Lillie and convince her to stop the nonsense of pampering the women of Silver Gulch. John has intentionally been avoiding Lillie in order to fight an attraction Lillie would like nothing more than to get her hands on John, knowing she could help him relax those painfully tight muscles. After meeting her sisters, Juliet and Nina, for the first time, Lillie is more determined than ever to make her business a successful addition to Silver Gulch. Once Lillie does get her hands on John, and he gets his hands on her, he realizes that he's not in such a hurry to see Lillie leave town after all.****** TEXAS BAD BOYS is a compilation of the works of three of the hottest names in women's fiction. All three stories tie in together, and it is fun re-visiting characters in each of the stories. All three heroines are spunky, independent, and self-confident. Each was hurt and deeply affected by what they mistakenly thought was a neglectful grandfather. The heroes that these authors have created to perfect order for their heroines are gentlemanly, in spite of the deceit of their old friend, and attentive to each and every need of their respective women. TEXAS BAD BOYS is yet another fun dose of bad boys and is highly recommended. COURTESY LAURIE/ROMANCE JUNKIES

This review is from: Texas Bad Boys (Paperback)
An anthology, 3 authors, 3 stories about 3 half-sisters who meet for the first time after each has their own "adventure" and finds their "true love". I had high hopes because of the other reviews but after reading it, my advice is to pass this one up. The first story is so poorly written (when have you EVER heard a Texas man say "buggers") with no character development, unbelieveable dialogue, and an unbelieveable love story. The second and third stories were definitely better in the dialogue department but the stories were just as sloppy, completely lacking in any heat or romance. There was no mystery to the mystery and I really couldn't have cared less about any of the characters in any of the 3 stories. The premise was thrown-together and the writing amaturish. I was very disappointed because I bought the book based on the other reviews. As soon as I finished this book I put it in the donation box for the next charitable organization who calls. I recommend that, if you still want to read it, borrow it from someone or go to the library - don't waste your money on it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Everything is always bigger in Texas!, May 13, 2009
By
Susie (Alabama, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Texas Bad Boys (Paperback)
Texas Bad Boys is an Brava anthology with stories by Rosemary Laurey, Karen Kelley, and Dianne Castell. My favorite one was, by far, the one by Karen Kelley (second story). The stories intertwine because the heroines are half-sisters who have come to Texas to receive their inheritance from their grandfather. And according to these stories, everything is bigger in Texas.

The first story, In Bad With Someone, has Juliet Ffrench coming to Texas from England to take over ownership of her late grandfather's bar. She meets Rod Carter, the bar manager, who was promised the bar by her grandfather. He feels slighted by how he has sunk his savings into someone else's bar. Juliet also feels bad for Rod, bur she also has other feelings for Rod that aren't of the empathy type. This was my least favorite of the three stories.

The second story, Run of Bad Luck, has got a hot hero, steamy scenes, and some humorous moments. Nina Harris has come to Texas to inherit her grandfather's ranch. Lance Colby, the foreman for the ranch, catches Nina's eye immediately. She is a photographer who takes pics of naked men, and she wants to get Lance naked ASAP (to take his pic and for other reasons). The premise with this one is pretty funny. Great story!

The third story, Come to a Bad End, is pretty good. Lillie June comes to town to inherit a hotel from her grandfather. She turns it into a spa and healing center which doesn't sit well with the men of the town. Sheriff John Snow has been asked by some men of the town to help shut her operation down. He is just not prepared for the immense attraction that he feels towards her. Their relationship starts out as the love-hate type. There is another storyline within each of these stories that revolves around the mysterious circumstances of their grandfather's death and the non-recovery of a body. This is resolved in the third story. 4 stars for Texas Bad Boys!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sizzling, Suspense Romance, September 28, 2006
This review is from: Texas Bad Boys (Paperback)
What a great anthology written by Rosemary Laurey, Karen Kelley and Dianne Castell. These are three intertwining stories set in the little town of Silver Gulch, Texas. On the death of their Grandfather, three sisters, who did not know anything about the other, inherit from his Estate. Apparently his son, Drew, had three daughters from three different women but never supported any of them. With that note the fun is about to begin.

IN BAD WITH SOMEONE by Rosemary Laurey brings us Juliet ffrench who was a manager of an Art Gallery in London before coming to Texas to claim her inheritance from a grandfather who she only met once. She is to inherit a building including the Ragged Rooster Bar, four apartments and a sizeable chunk of money. Therein lies the problem, because unbeknown to her, her grandfather had made an agreement with Rod Carter, the manager of the Red Rooster, that when he passed on he would inherit it. Rod and Juliet, from the moment they set eyes on each other, have a sensational chemistry going that is undeniable hot. But Rod is really getting a raw deal and a compromise is made, but there are strange occurrences going on that neither Juliet or Rod can account for.........throwing suspicion on each other.......can it be sorted out?

RUN OF BAD LUCK by Karen Kelley brings us Nina Harris a free lance photographer who has inherited the ranch, Maddock's Dream, from a grandfather she has never met. Lance Colby is the foreman of the ranch, who since the grandfather had no next of kin stood to inherit, but this has now been turned upside down. When Nina first sets eyes on Lance he is breaking a wild horse, and she decides that she is going to have him as centrefold for a magazine that she free lances for. Lance is having no part of the deal. Whenever she is around Lance he puts fire in her blood and the sparks from the two of them is enough to burn down all the buildings and them in the process..........but can their differences be settled? And why was she picked to inherit at all from a perfect stranger?

COME TO A BAD END by Dianne Castell brings us Lillie June a former graphic designer who is tired of the business rat race and since she has inherited the hotel, turned it into a The Silver Springs Spa. This has stirred up the men folk of the town, since they do not want their women associating with such a place and getting all fancy ideas. They demand that Sheriff John Snow do something to get rid of the Spa. But John is reluctant because he would rather stay away from someone who he considers to be temptation and dynamite all in one package. The sizzle and sparks between them is enough to set off a Roman candle, talk about lust at first sight. But wait there are more strange goings on, and come to think of it there was never a body found to substantiate the death. This leads John to think that possibly the granddaughters had something to do with the demise of the grandfather, I mean who stood to be bigger gainers. But Lillie points out that Lance and Rod have just as much to gain with his death.

Between the pages of this book the three authors have penned a sizzling romance, with mystery, suspense and a ending that makes you sigh. I would highly recommend this anthology and feel that it will not disappoint.

1.0 out of 5 stars Maybe half a star, December 28, 2006
This review is from: Texas Bad Boys (Paperback)
I bought the book for karen kelley's story, since I do enjoy reading her work. But these three stories were bad. The first one, with the british sister, the author seemed to use English slang when the hero was speaking and some of his lines sounded decidingly English. The photographer sister wasn't too bad, but since its compared to two not so good stories, it doesn't say much, and I didn't even finish the third, for one thing I didn't like her name Lillie June, it was just all bad. Sorry I may be in the minority here, but I figured I just give my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy Texas Boys!!, September 25, 2006
By
This review is from: Texas Bad Boys (Paperback)
Love Those Texas Boys!

I read this book for Dianne Castell's story, but was pleasantly surprised that all three stories were full of romance, steamy love scenes, and sexy Texas men! The stories are connected, with a unsolved element that resolves in the last story.

IN BAD WITH SOMEONE, by Rosemary Laurey: Juliet French is out of her element when she moves to Texas to claim an inheritance from her Grandfather. When she finds herself facing off with Rod Carter, who believes her inheritance should rightfully be his, they are both taken by surprise by the heat between them.

RUN OF BAD LUCK by Karen Kelley: Nina is a successful, head-strong photographer, drawn to Texas to see the ranch her Grandfather left to her. Once she lays eyes on sexy cowboy Lance Colby, however, she determines to persuade him to pose nude for her magazine. He's dead set against it, of course, and turns the tables on her with some very sexy results! The fireworks between these two are hot hot hot!!

COME TO A BAD END by Dianne Castell: Lillie June has raised everyone's shackles by opening a "girlie" spa in Silver Gulch. Sheriff John Snow decides to represent the town and convince Lillie to shut down the spa. What he least expects is to fall head over heels for Lillie! The sparring between these two soon melts the sparks between Lillie and John steam up the pages! Dianne always writes sexy, steamy heroes, and Sheriff John is no exception!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot as the Texan Sun!, September 4, 2006
This review is from: Texas Bad Boys (Paperback)
Whew! This book contains everything you will want in a romance. Refreshing characters, funny situations and steamy sex scenes. All three stories are really well written.
In Bad with Someone by Rosemary Laurey - Juliet ffrench is a redheaded Brit art gallery owner from London and she came to Silver Gulch because she received an inheritance form her grandfather. The sparks between her and Rod Carter fly from the first time they set eyes on each other. The only problem is that Rod thought he was the one supposed to inherit the Ragged Rooster! Soon they come to terms that the chemistry between them can't be denied any longer and things get really interesting!

Run of Bad Luck by Karen Kelley - Nina Harris is a photographer used to men dropping their pants to be photographed by her at the snap of her fingers and she wants to photograph sexy cowboy and foreman of the ranch she just inherited from her grandfather. His name is Lance Colby and she wants to photograph him in the buff. Well Lance is not going to do that, just because he find her to be the sexiest, prettiest woman he has ever laid eyes on. The only thing is he wants to drop his pants but for a different reason altogether and Nina is all for it!

Come to a Bad End by Dianne Castell - When Lillie June inherits from her grandfather an old hotel she transforms it into a Fancy Spa. The men in the small town of Silver Gulch are not happy with all the changes and commissioned sheriff John Snow to go talk to the owner and make her close down the place. John has been avoiding being close to Lillie but now he has no option but face his attraction to her and do his job, only complication is that her massages are not as bad as the town folks think! Boy they are good! One thing leads to another and things get really hot and not from the hot tub!

You will love the way all three stories ties together, the authors did a great job and Mrs. Castell did a wonderful job to tie all loose ends and give us a great ending. You will want to keep this refreshing read. If you haven't read anything by these authors you may want to give this book a chance and look for more. You will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars The badboys are back, September 2, 2006
By
Judy "book reader" (Cincinnati, ohio United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Texas Bad Boys (Paperback)
Texas Bad Boys is a rip roaring all out sexy good time. Seems Pete Maddox had died under mysterious circumstances and has willed various properties to his three granddaughters. None of which knows about the other.....

In Bad With Someone by Rosemary Laurey, Juliet Ffrench fresh from London is all set to take over the town bar, The Ragged Rooster. Well, old man Maddox promised local Rod Carter that bar. At first Rod isn't to keen on Juliet and her ways but after a few up close meetings things start to heat up. Strange goings on perplexes these two and makes keeping their hands off policy very hard to maintain. Rod and Juliet set the sheets on fire every time they met. It's a delightful pairing of opposites.

Karen Kelley's Run Of Bad Luck has photographer of hot sexy men, Nina Harris inheriting her grandfather's ranch. One look at her foreman Lance Colby she vows to have him for her magazine. But Lance turns the camera on her and its one smoking hot afternoon on the ranch. Out of the ordinary things are also happening out at the ranch. Who can be behind all of this? Will Nina trust that Lance just wants her and not the ranch too?

Lillie June turns the local hotel into a day spa in Dianne Castell's Come To A Bad End. This spa has the men in town up in arms and complaining to Sheriff John Snow. But John has his own troubles with Lillie, he can't get his mind off of her and her magic hands. Each meeting between these too is more tantalizing then the previous one. John isn't sure whom to trust with all the unexplained happenings around town but he knows he has found something special with Lillie.

Texas Bad Boys is a wickedly delightful anthology of those hot and spicy men and woman of the south. Each story holds its own and flows right into the next tale. It is wonderfully concluded in the last story. It's a definite keeper.

4.0 out of 5 stars delightful fresh amusing interrelated trio of tales, September 2, 2006
This review is from: Texas Bad Boys (Paperback)
"In Bad with Someone" by Rosemary Laurey. Rod Carter expected to manage the Ragged Rooster bar in Silver Gulch, Texas when Old Mr. Maddock died, but instead the old coot selected his London art gallery manager granddaughter. Worse the Brit has crossed the Atlantic and two thirds of the United States to meet the stipulations of the will. Even worse to the Texan is his desire for the prim and proper Juliet Amanda Felicity Ffrench.

"Run of Bad Luck" by Karen Kelley. Photographer Nina Harris cannot believe she gave up air conditioning and naked men for the heat of Texas just because she has inherited her late grandfather's ranch Maddock's Dream. However, things look up to Nina when she meets the foreman hunk Lance Colby whom she wants posing nude for a national spread. However, Lance agrees to nakedness on two conditions; she join him and they keep it personal and private; an offer Nina is considering one clothing item at a time.

"Come to a Bad End" by Dianne Castell. Silver Gulch Sheriff John Snow cannot believe that a spa could cause so much trouble. Instead of harmony, he is caught in the middle of a gender war though his feelings are on the side of his sex as he believes females belong barefoot in the kitchen or bed. He agrees to shut down dangerous Lillie June's fancy new operation on some pretext until he receives personal coddling and massages that turn him into the top spa customer, who wants to reciprocate with his hostess.

The latest "Bad Boys" anthology is a delightful fresh amusing interrelated trio of tales that fans of the series will enjoy as the guys are hot and the female outsiders invading Silver Gulch make for a fun time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the Texas Bad Boys!, September 1, 2006
This review is from: Texas Bad Boys (Paperback)
In Bad with Someone - Rosemary Laurey

Rod Carter was sure that he would inherit the Ragged Rooster, but suddenly Old Man Maddox's granddaughter Juliet ffrench appears out of nowhere and says she is the new owner of the bar. The sparks are soon flying between them and not only because they have different opinions about the bar.

Run of Bad Luck - Karen Kelley

Nina's favorite motives for her photographs are sexy, naked men. When she meets Lance Colby, the foreman on the ranch that she recently inherited from her grandfather, she knows that has to get him a model. What could be sexier than a hot naked cowboy. There are only two problems, Lance doesn't like her idea one tiny bit, plus there is this strange attraction between them.

Come to a Bad End - Dianne Castell

Lillie June drives the men of Silver Gulch crazy with her Silver Springs Spa. They insist that she plants strange ideas into the heads of their wives, so that they plead with the Sheriff John Snow to close down the Spa. But once he met Lillie he is lost and not only because of her massages and personal pampering.

Texas Bad Boys is the compilation of three great stories by three fantastic authors. The stories are about Old Man Maddox's long lost granddaughters and are connected through a mystery that weaves it's way through all stories.
The book is so much to read and you won't be able to put it down, because the stories will captivate you. It's a real keeper! You don't want miss this book
