Editorial Reviews

Presenting the soundtrack to the most anticipated horror/thriller of the year. From New Line Cinema (FREDDY VS. JASON, LORD OF THE RINGS) and producer Michael Bay (THE ROCK, ARMAGEDDON, BAD BOYS II), comes the brand new, big-budget, big-screen remake of the classic THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. The amazing, chilling music score is by Steve Jablonsky, who has composed additional music for such recent blockbusters as PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN and BAD BOYS II.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Actual Review For This CD., November 1, 2003
This review is from: Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Audio CD)
Okay, well with everyone all freaked out over that song in the trailor, I'll tell you this. No, it's not on the CD. It's not by This Mortal Coil, it was done by some group that starts with an S (i forget what it's called) and it was made exclusively for the trailor. HOWEVER, for a version just as good, if not better, get the one by This Mortal Coil. It's on the CD "It'll End In Tears"

Now, for a review on the SCORE of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre:
I love film scores. Most of you probably don't. But I am a huge fan of Music Made For Movies. I actually bought this CD because it is as scary as heck, and great for the Halloween season, and let me tell you, it is PERFECT for halloween, it's deep bass gets you scared all by itself! (even with the lights on).

I absolutly LOVED the movie, it was fantastic, but, to be honest, what really made this movie so dern scary was the music. You can probably be just as scared listening to this soundtrack as you would be watching the movie, it's THAT good! I highly suggest picking up this soundtrack even if you can't stand film scores, and use it for halloween, or just to scare the heck out of you whenever you want.

4.0 out of 5 stars Creepy score for a creepy movie, July 24, 2005

This review refers to the score for 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre', as opposed to the album.

Relatively little-known Steve Jablonsky has done an AWESOME job with the score for the remake of the 1974 horror classic, 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'. The score creeped me out so bad I got chills down my spine just from listening to it. It always seemed to hint that something unpleasant was going to happen soon - whether that meant Kemper getting whacked by Leatherface's sledgehammer, Erin's wild run through the woods at night with Leatherface & his chainsaw close behind, or Andy's panic-stricken run through the backyard of the Hewitt house, steps ahead of the loudly-buzzing chainsaw. Jablonsky created a central theme - probably Leatherface's - using low brass, bassoon, and French horn to give the movie the sinister, creepy tone that runs through the movie. It's heard several times in the movie, which was why I bought the score. DO NOT MISS IT!

3.0 out of 5 stars Trailer Song, October 29, 2003
By
Donut (USA, TEXAS) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Audio CD)
the opening song to the trailer and the theme for the film. is called Song to the Siren by Moneypenny. it is not on the soundtrack and it is not a single. seems they left off the best song. which is a drag i know. but again we get cheated by missing out on having a beautiful version of a classic song.

it is not the chemical brothers. thats a completely different song. its not This Mortal Coil. their version is much more gospel sounding. and Tim Buckly did not sing this version. and there are several several other cover versions. but the one for this film is by Moneypenny.

so stop trying to find it. cause its not anywhere on the net. and its not on any album.

so hope this helps. bad news i know. but maybe one day it will be released on a format.
