5.0 out of 5 stars MEMORIES OF A CZECH-AMERICAN CHILDHOOD, June 18, 2000

GROWING UP IN A CZECH-AMERICAN COMMUNITY we heard the music of our heritage often and with great joy. That memory will be reborn when you listen to this CD. My father was a DJ for 12 years at WRJN, Racine, Wisconsin. He had a CZECHO-SLOVAK HOUR every week and he played polkas and waltzes heard on this CD. The preservation of our heritage by these Texas' Bands and others is a listening pleasure and greatly appreciated.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy Central Texas Czech Music, September 10, 2003

Though I am of Irish desent with this album I imagaine that once more I am a 10 year old boy in Central Texas with my family listening to the Sunday Czech music radio broadcast. Also, there was nothing like a Czech dance with live music, bright lights, and all ages on the dance floor. This takes me back to those happy childhood times and beautiful, happy Texas Czech music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this CD, July 17, 2010

I bought this CD as a Christmas gift for my parents. They are in their 80's and they still go out to waltz and polka dances where they live. My dad is Czech and he really likes the song Krasna Amerika that is what first caught my eye about this CD. Plus my Dad understands the words they are singing. Then I listened to the samples - it took me back to when I was a kid and my father was teaching me how to dance. My parents love to dance and get compliments on how 'pretty' they dance. They listen to this CD alot. Now I want one and will be orderong one for myself. If you like Czech music this CD is a wonderful disk to have.

If you like the "Real MacCoy" type of Czech oompa-pa music, like polkas, marches and wantzes, then you'll love this CD. It's sound reflects its age, but this just ads to its authenticity. Amazing that this type of typical Czech music could be so well replicated in good old US of A!
