Product Description

Amazon.com Review

The TI1706SV is an easy-to-use calculator, offering functions for square root, percentages, and memory for plus and minus values, along with basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Operated by both battery and solar power, it's easily portable and functions well in any light. It also features surprisingly large, responsive keys for such a compact unit.

The TI1706 has a lightweight design, although some users may find the casing to be a bit flimsy. Many calculators in the entry-level category offer more functions than the TI1706--subtotals and sales tax calculations, for example--but why buy such a calculator if those functions will go unused? If all you need are the most basic calculations, the TI1706 will fit the bill. --John Frederick Moore

I teach Middle school Ind Tech and purchased 17 of these calculators for different areas in the classroom. They work great. I have six classes of 30 or more students. Each student must use a calculators daily. I consider this a great little calculator for the cost.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wouldn't call it a "pocket" calculator., January 6, 2010

It's bigger than I expected; however, it fits well in one hand.

The hard cover, however, must be completely taken off the back of it and put on the front to protect it. It feels kind of flimsy. It could have been designed better.

It's more comfortable to hold the calculator in your hand without the cover attached to it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Larger than I anticipated., October 29, 2009

I once had a TI "pocket" calculator that was similar to the one pictured in this discription. It was small, compact, easy to use. The item I received was, unfortunately, significantly bigger than the one I had before (by about 30-40%). Functionally, it is the same and with its larger size, actually easier to use (somewhat larger buttons). Still, it was not what I expected.
