I absolutely love cookbooks and am always thrilled to be asked to review one, but this one went beyond excellence. The minute I laid eyes on this book I was impressed by the cover and the entire make-up of the book. The cover is bright, yet warm and inviting with a drawing appeal. The book is spiral and easy to open and lay out to follow the recipes inside and what a treat awaits you there.

Texas Judicial Cookbook has recipes, 59, from residing and former judges and other state and county officials. I really enjoyed looking at the pictures of the different judges and officials and seeing their favorite recipe. It was fun and interesting. However, this cookbook doesn't stop there.

Along with wonderful meal ideas you also learn about the restoration of many different courthouses across the state and see pictures of them both outside and inside. The photographs are beautifully done; put this all together and you have one top-notch cookbook that you do not want to pass by.

I highly recommend this cookbook for yourself or as a gift for someone you love. It truly has it all. I intend to sample many of the recipes that are inside and I am sure they will be a true treat for myself and my family. Very well done, exceptional work.

Gave it as a gift to a culinary student--it inspired her to want to visit Texas. Recipes were easy to duplicate, taste good and the history was great!

i was given this cookbook as a gift. i LOVE it. most of the recipes are easy and are recipes you can make for your family or a crowd. and...the photos are great. learned a little texas history!

I bought this as a gift for a native Texan -- a real blast from the past, Texas cuisine-wise, and a great piece of history as well.
