Book Description

Everyone loves a good murder mystery, and in this case, the murders and the outcomes are both quite real. Justice, it seems, like everything else, has its price. There is a long history of prominent Texans who have bought their way out of the heinous criminal systems.

4.0 out of 5 stars TEXAS TRASH October 30, 2006
Really a fun read about justice in my beloved Texas. Frankly, Im sure the other review is correct about the lax research and there were some grammatical errors, but i really did not care, it did not take away from the enjoyment of these stories and they are all so Texas. I have always been fascinated with the Cullen Davis story and the Hill story, made so famous in the great book Blood and Money, honesty, if you enjoy books of this genre pick up a copy of Blood and Money it is one of the best true crime books ever written.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice effort in many ways, but... October 4, 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
...leaves the reader with a desire for less editorializing and more objectivity. Additionally, the proofreading\editing needed tightening; there were several instances in the book where spelling lacked and even one point where one subject was referred to by the wrong name; misleading and confusing if the reader isn't paying attention. These errors alone indicate a haphazard attitude with the construction of the book. Aside from these problems, the book is entertaining but the reader quickly learns that the stories contained within are more a compilation of the authors opinion on the cases rather than straight facts. Entertaining, but not a totally factual reference.
