An exciting and enjoyable read for railroad lovers,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Texas Trains (Paperback)
Texas Trains by Texas railroading enthusiast Richard Troxell is wonderful collection of history, stories and trivia on and about railroading in Texas. Troxell traveled 11,802 miles of Texas railroad track in researching and writing this superbly crafted compendium that ranges from train wrecks to railroad towns, from steam engines to train robbers, and offers welcome advice as to where you can go to see historic trains today. A special feature of Texas Trains is its unique treasure hunt; there is a 14k gold "Missing Train" buried somewhere in Texas, and clues to its location lie hidden within the book! Texas Trains is an exciting and enjoyable read for railroad lovers and Texas history buffs.
