It appears to be very sturdy and well made.

The paint just burns off anyway not sure why they bothered painting it... Also I wish the legs were either a foot or 2 longer or that the legs had telescoping feet..

Great for anyone who likes to camp and cook outdoors.

Very sturdy, multiple hook options for your dutch oven for temperature control. Very sturdy and not too cumbersome. Wouldn't recommend for a backpacker as it is made of cast iron, but great for a group outing

I purchased this tripod for an 8 Quart Cast Iron Dutch Oven with Lid. It was a very sturdy item. However, you must be VERY careful with the placement of this tripod. It fell on us 3 times during the cooking process. Fortunately we were able to catch it with our tongs and hot mitts. Dig this tripod in well! All three legs need to be dug in and stable.

Love this tripod. We use it every time we go camping for dutch oven cooking. Makes things much easier than stacking rocks etc...We fashioned a PVC pipe with caps on the end for storing it and easy packing.

I recently received my tripod. It appears to be very sturdy and well made. The only concern is that it seems too short, as a tall person I would have to be bending too much to use it. I ordered a taller one and I did keep this one because the price is very modest.

Yes, even with the length of the legs listed, it was still shorter in person than I expected. The product image can be a bit misleading, making it look taller than it is. This is the reason I knocked off a star.

Once review listed for this product must have been placed for the wrong item. This has no grill portion. It is simply a tripod with a chain from which to hang your dutch oven over your camp fire. You're going to have to hang it at a certain height to begin with, so one should expect to bend over a bit to get in and work with it.

All of that aside, this product is well made. Nice heavy chain, and sturdy legs. Just make sure you have the legs in the right position, so that it is sturdy enough to hang your oven from.

As a bonus, you can use this in other ways as well.

You can hang your lantern from it, provided it's not windy, for example. I'm sure you can think of some other handy uses, since it will be there anyway.

Overall, this is a great way to maximize use of your dutch oven without having to mess with a lot of extra charcoal.

The paint just burns off anyway not sure why they bothered painting it... Also I wish the legs were either a foot or 2 longer or that the legs had telescoping feet.. Most campground fire pits are not conducive to this apparatus ... Sometimes I keep thinking If I could adgust the legs I could use this so much better...

I did use it this past weekend to make a chunky chicken soup over the fire and it came out awesome though...
