Cheap, but adequate.,
This review is from: Texsport Knollwood Bivy Shelter Tent (Sports)
As I was only going to be out 6 days, and didn't have the money to spend on a true ultralight backpacker's tent, I thought this would suffice.
For the most part, it did, though on night 4 I split a pole. Luckily, with some duck tape I managed to get through the trip, but this tent will be promptly replaced by something higher quality. This tent was fine for a short trip and a "one-time-use" type situation. If you are going to be using this tent a lot, I suggest searching for one of higher quality. That said, for a $30 lightweight tent, it sufficed for my 1 week hike.

you could get wet,

I used this tent for 10 days on a 13 day bicycle camping trip. Its called a two person tent but it will only comfortably accomodate one. I had plenty of room for all of my gear and I could stretch out completely inside. It effectively kept the bugs out as well. Two people could use it but you'd have to be very close.
It rained really hard several nights I was out and I'm certain that without the tarp I brought along, I would have been very wet. I used the fabric seam sealer and waterproofing silicone spray but I feel I still could have gotten wet. Bring a tarp if you plan on braving the elements. This tent is super duper light and portable. I used my own stuff sack that kept the thing the size of a football. I strapped the sturdy fiberglass stakes to my top bar. Overall, I'd say this is a wonderful tent for the money. I stayed dry, I easily lugged it over 990 miles on my bicycle, nothing broke, and it kept the bugs out. All that for under 40 bucks. Nice.

Good value,

This is a good value for the price. Perhaps not as good as a North Face, but it doesn't have the price tag. If you only camp out occasionally, this is for you.

This was basically a one-use item for me, since the flexible rod which supports the smaller end of the tent split like green wood the first time I used it. I may get one more use out of it, but with the rod split, it was a little wobbly.

I wanted a light inexpensive tent for a bicycle camping trip. This tent was the perfect cost to weight ratio. It was easy to set up, roomy enough for one (Two would be very tight) and some gear. I use it two nights out of a week bike tour. I did not experiece rain. It did well at keeping bugs out. Great for the casual camper!

Texsport Knollwood Backpacking Tent,

For the price an excellent product. I am 6'3", 210# and fit very nicely with my pack next to me in the tent, not crowded at all. The first weekend after I recieved the tent I went camping and was awoken at 3:00 a.m. by a heavy rainstorm that lasted several hours. With the exception of a place on the sloped frontdoor that I forgot the spray with water sealer I had a dry night. I do plan on purchasing a coulle for of these tents for my son's as they move up in Scouting and need backing tents of thier own.

Great little backpacking tent,

I bought two of these for my 11 and 14 yr old kids. It sets up quick and easy. My 14 year old broke the zipper, but that was not the tent's problem. He is just rough and was forcing it really hard instead of asking for help. My daughter can set it up herself and it is lightweight enough for her to carry.

This shelter is lightweight and easy to set up. The line and anchors are not designed for rugged use, so I replaced mine with better materials. Plenty of room and the tent material is adequate.

This is a very cheap tent to buy but not cheaply made though. It does protect well from light rain but not from heavy winds. It is easy to install.
For the price, one cannot expect more, therefore the good score.

Worked fine in dry weather. In a heavy downpour for 1 hour is soaked right through the fabric and polled on the bottom for the tent. this of course, after seam sealing. Its 3 lbs though so great for backpacking. TONS of room for one +gear+dog. For two its "cozy" and have little room for gear, definitely not a dog! If you just need something light for a backpacking trip where you'll have shelter from rain or no heavy rain is expected you'll be fine, if not, hope you have a synthetic sleeping bag b/c down doesn't insulate when wet!
