Neonatal Dermatology, September 30, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Textbook of Neonatal Dermatology (Hardcover)
This book is a must for every clinician involved in the care of newborns, whether in private practice or academics. Every hospital neonatal unit should have one also. It discusses a multitude of congenital and neonatal skin disorders, many accompanied by excellent color pictures. Included are chapters on fetal skin development, structure and function of newborn skin, premature skin, and neonatal skin care. There are many concise tables on diagnostic and treatment issues, as well as differential diagnoses. Every attempt was made to include the latest information on pathophysiology, genetics, and treatment. This is a long-awaited book that will boost our knowledge and understanding of neonatal skin disorders, as well as improve the care we give to newborns.
