This well-illustrated, authoritative text introduces students to the principles and concepts of physiology that are essential to the study and practice of veterinary medicine. Coverage of physiopathology, in addition to clinical problem-solving techniques, makes this resource uniquely relevant to practice. Clinical correlation boxes in each chapter include history and background information on topics in physiology. Cases present realistic situations that show theory in practice and reinforce students' understanding of each topic. The organization by body system follows a logical progression and makes it easy to refer to specific information.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great physiology reference, January 16, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Textbook of Veterinary Physiology, 3e (Hardcover)
I would highly recommend this book. The next best thing to sitting in one of Dr. Cunningham's lectures. It is easy to understand, uses great examples and has good practice problems. I bought it for first year physiology and am constantly returning to it to brush up for other classes. Dr. C also designed the cool cover.

This review is from: Textbook of Veterinary Physiology, 3e (Hardcover)
This book is a must for any veterinary student. My class was using a human physiolgy book, which was very informative, but was frustrating to use. The textbook of Veterinary Physiology is easy to read and well organized and has many tables and illustrations to help you understand the material. There are even case studies in the book that help you apply the information. I gave this book 4 stars, because while very informative, it does leave out a few things (those topics can usually be found in a medical physiology book). Overall, this book is a very good supplementation to veterinary students whose classes use a medical physiology book as their primary text. The only other downer (this is minor) is that the tables and diagrams are all black and white. Color diagrams would be a nice upgrade in the next edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read, lot's of info, July 21, 2007
This review is from: Textbook of Veterinary Physiology, 3e (Hardcover)
This was the Physio book my Vet Phys class used. It is absolutely amazing. There is tons of info, yet it is interesting and somewhat easy to read. The chapters on Cardio are especially good, and there are many helpful diagrams.
The case examples at the end of each chapter really help you to apply your knowledge.
I gave only four stars because there are no color pictures.
