TextBridge Pro Millennium, Business Edition, is a paper-to-Web-content solution for your business. It is designed to be a high-speed, highly accurate paper-to-PDF, paper-to-HTML generator and corporate-level OCR (Optical Character Recognition) product. This new release offers a 27% improvement in PDF file compression, which means faster transmission and display of images that have been converted to PDF by using this product.

This product is suited to companies in paper-intensive industries (including the legal, health care, pharmaceutical, and education fields) and scanning-service bureaus, as well as government entities. Once information has been published to PDF format, it is easy to archive, search, retrieve, and share throughout an organization on the corporate intranet, Internet, or removable media such as CD.

There are no limits to the number of PDF files that can be created or output. While TextBridge Pro Millennium is designed to recognize complex formatting such as columns and cell tables, it is not a forms-scanning package. It is designed to work with all scanners that are compliant with TWAIN (industry-standard interface), with the exception of triple-pass scanners and Visioneer's sheet-fed scanners. The quality of scanner that is used and the level of controls that the device offers play significant roles in determining the quality of a scanned image.

Scansoft's promise of 99% accuracy is dead on if the only thing you want to scan is pure text. This product is garbage if you choose to scan tables. Oddly table and column recognition were supposed to be the most touted improvements. In my opinion, nothing has changed since Textbridge 98. The text recognition is excellent. But everything else is GARBAGE! Much as is my rating of this product! $372.99 of PURE GARBAGE.

As opposed to the previous reviewer, I have found the product excellent in both pure OCR and tabular data. Maybe my standards are lower, having graduated from a definite One-Star product, Caere's OmniPage Limited Edition that came packaged with my Canon scanner.
