Book Description

September 1, 2004
The fourth workbook in the series featuring hands-on modern fabric swatches illustrating the appearance of period fabrics used for adults' and children's clothing, from voile and failles to calico and velvets.

In addition to the 32 fabric samples, the workbook contains illustrated sections with information on 1880 - 1920 fashion silhouettes, fashion tips, photographic portraits, and fabric use.

Great guide for historical societies, house museums, and vintage clothing collectors to identify fabric content of clothing in their collections.

Companion books include _Textiles for Colonial Clothing_, _Textiles for Regency Clothing 1800 - 1850_, and Textiles for Early Victorian Clothing 1850-1880.

This review is from: Textiles for Victorian and Edwardian Clothing 1880-1920 (Spiral-bound)
The wonderful thing about this book is the fabric samples included. Granted, I'm sure they are reproduction period fabrics but nonetheless, it is so helpful. Not the most comprehensive book but clear, concise summaries of each period--& of course the fabric.
