While the text maybe cautious in its approach and lengthy in it's execution; it is the best means to help students achieve proficient college-level writing and textual analysis skills. Based on decades of practical application in the California State University system and exhaustive pedagogical research that supports its methods, Texts and Contexts is the best text for teaching composition -- period.
