5.0 out of 5 stars Old Megadeth revisited November 4, 2011
By Gus
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the best musical surprise I have witnessed in the past 5 years. The album is a cross between the old Megadeth feel with a modern polished sound, which forms a perfect mesh. For full disclosure, I don't think there are any bad Megadeth albums out there, but in the post Youthanasia era there has been a clear drop in the level of authentic Mustaine emotion. The whole album has this perfect rolling sound without any breaks or low points. It is rare that I like an album on the first attempt, but this has been the case here. If you are a weathered Deth enthusiast, you obviously need to hear the final versions of New World Order and Millenium of the Blind. If you are interested in the best of what's new, I'd recommend Black Swan and Sudden Death. I can't wait for my next road trip...

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Metal records of the year!! November 1, 2011
By Jacob
Format:Audio CD
Megadeth's Th1rt3en is fantastic in all areas. It rivals 2011 releases such as Anthrax's "Worship Music" and Five Finger Death Punch's "American Capitalist." Dave Mustaine is on top of his game throughout the record and his lyrical content is better than ever. Some of his lyrics really hit home considering the current state of the American psyche. If you are a Megadeth fan, you will enjoy this. If you are a hard rock/metal fan or a newer fan of Megadeth you will definitely enjoy this latest record! Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic November 6, 2011
Format:Audio CD
All the haters can kiss my ass.I think this is a great album.I dont want another Peace sells or Rust in peace.Part of the thrill and enjoyment of being a fan is seeing what direction a band will go.Stop comparing every new album with an old one.Enjoy the new material and be thankful there are still a few bands that have been around for over 20 years that still put in the effort and have a passion for what they do.Megadeth,Iron Maiden,AC/DC,Anthrax,Metallica-i have never felt cheated on any album they've made.Personally,i can't stand most of the crap being put out by the newer groups and I hate to think of the future of music when the older bands finally call it a career.

4.0 out of 5 stars "13" actually IS a lucky number for the mighty Megadeth
Sure, Megadeth might be getting up there in age. After all, they formed after Dave Mustaine (who is now fifty whole years old) was fired from Metallica in 1983, and debuted two... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Yawn.
As a frame of referrence, I'm an old school Megadeth fan who loves 'KIMB' through 'Rust In Peace', likes 'Countdown..', and can tolerate 'Cryptic Writings'. Read more
