5.0 out of 5 stars Respect the change
Lets get one thing clear. I'm not a fan of mainstream hiphop, snap or any of the music out today. I am a huge fan of classic hiphop like NWA, NaS, Big L etc. I am also a firm believer that hiphop is dead. I think hiphop is supposed to change. Lets look back to when the chronic came out, several people said it was bad. The great rapper common even released a song called i...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I really expected to be blown away by this album. It was one of the best selling records the year it came out, and this record cemented Lil' Wayne as one of the biggest rappers on the planet. You couldn't turn the TV on without seeing him or this record. However, There were only 3 or so songs that I liked. The other songs just sounded the same and generically...

5.0 out of 5 stars Respect the change, October 23, 2008
This review is from: Tha Carter III [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
Lets get one thing clear. I'm not a fan of mainstream hiphop, snap or any of the music out today. I am a huge fan of classic hiphop like NWA, NaS, Big L etc. I am also a firm believer that hiphop is dead. I think hiphop is supposed to change. Lets look back to when the chronic came out, several people said it was bad. The great rapper common even released a song called i used to love H.E.R. the whole song was about the direction of hiphop and how it was straying away from the more constructive hiphop of KRS 1 and Rakim but many say it was a change for the best. What I'm sayin is that is a change for the better. I'm not sayin snap or stuuf like that is good because there is no skill included. There People are sayin that he has no substance but look at devin the dude he raps about smokin all the time but people still respect him and consider him a good rapper. Also people talk down about his flow but look at ol dirty bastard. His flow is spastic and doesn't make sense but that what makes him who he is. A good rapper shouldn't be considered a good rapper by how similar he is to other rappers but how different he is.

5.0 out of 5 stars This isn't hip-hop, And it's not pop., November 2, 2011
This review is from: Tha Carter III [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
It pushes my buttons when people like the review three below this one says this is pop. The reason weezies fan base is more girls is because his songs are about girls...Like his song Mr. Officer, And if i was a girl i'd love his music more then i do as a guy. This is rap. There is a difference between hip-hop & rap. Weezy is rap and eminem is a mix of hip-hop and rap. Justin beiber and lady gaga are pop. If your comparing song's like A mili to Never say never and tik-tok, Then you don't deserve speakers.

Amazing album I can't believe I saw such a low rating on 2008's top selling album. I still listen to this album nonstop.

I really expected to be blown away by this album. It was one of the best selling records the year it came out, and this record cemented Lil' Wayne as one of the biggest rappers on the planet. You couldn't turn the TV on without seeing him or this record. However, There were only 3 or so songs that I liked. The other songs just sounded the same and generically manufactured to me. This review is not a reflection on Weezy's rap style or lyrics, but maybe the producing. Clearly, the guy is talented, but the record just came across as bland and repetitive to me. His 2006 release with Birdman was slammin. I expected this record to sound a little closer to that. Obviously, I am in the minority here, as the rest of the world can't get enough of this record.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another wanksta out there., April 28, 2011
This review is from: Tha Carter III [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
This is simply terrible, his lyrics don't match with the beats, his flow is so annoying that listening to his songs actually makes u rather agry then chilled. I can hardly find any positives, i'm not a dirty south hater, actually i pretty much like some south side artists, but this "artist" is a pure desaster!

1.0 out of 5 stars Overated song and artist, February 1, 2011
This review is from: Tha Carter III [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
If you notice, the reason he sold A MILI was because his fan base is more girls than guys. He is POP, this should not be classified as hip-hop or emcee. He has ok skills, but his delivery is very poor and extremely overated. Only once would I love to hear people talking about Nas, Ice Cube, or at least a rapper who doesnt use autotune

This review is from: Tha Carter III [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
wow so everyone is like shocked that lil wayne just naturally sucks. Not a surprise he has not been good since he was young is their a reason why lil wayne went from sounding one way and then completely sounding like someone smashed his vocal cords???? what is the deal? this is my opinion was the funniest "rap" cd i have heard in a long time and will only keep it in my collection so on days when i feel like i need a good hard laugh i have it. Lil wayne is a joke. He is farthest thing from a gangsta and if you want a real gangsta a** cd to listen to grab a copy of the L.O.X. or Biggie Smalls for god sake. If lil wayne is gangsta then i'm the head of the mob.
