This course was originally designed by the Fo reign Service Institute. This is the best edition available with well done cassettes packaged in handy binders. The Thai Basic Course teaches the national spoken language in the dialect of educated speakers of Bangkok and Central Thailand. It starts with a programmed introduction to Thai phonology to acquaint you with the significant features of the language's sound system. The course then teaches the basic conversations, vocabulary, and grammar you will need to communicate in Thai. When writing, the Thais use a complex system based on Sanskrit, but in the course a special phonetic transcription is used which will help you read and write more easily.

THIS IS VERY WELL DEVELOPED BOOK WITH GOOD DRILLS FOR PRACTICING PREFABRICATED SENTENCES.THIS BOOK IS VERY PROFESSIONAL IN ITS APPROACH COMPAIRED TO MOST OTHERS . THERE ARE TOO MANY JUNK BOOKS ABOUT .. THE BOOK IS EXCELLENT . I HAVE BETTER TIMES USING THIS BOOK THAN TRYING TO GET THAI`S TO HELP ME LEARN THERE LANGUAGE .. WHY ARE THEY SO LAZY AND CARELESS??
