This was published in the early 1990s and has not been updated. It is still useful as it gives a general idea of the railway systems of these countries, which are not given much importance in the standard guidebooks. Of course, anyone seriously interested in travelling by train in these countries should also refer to the Thomas Cook Overseas Timetable and the website [...] for up-to-date information.
