5.0 out of 5 stars Thank God I Purchased This Single!
Miss Carey has once again proved her worthy throan in the pop monarch with this wonderful new single. This time around she recruited r&b sensation Joe, and the soulful, "boy band" quartet 98 Degrees. The song has a very powerful message that only Mariah can dictate, with that beautifully rich, and smooth voice.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Great, Not Bad
My two favorite Mariah ballads are "Love Takes Time" and "Can't Let Go", but this one isn't bad. Mariah is a superb vocalist, even better than Whitney, but this song is kind of weak. Joe and 98 Degrees don't add much. But it is a cute love song

The song has a very powerful message that only Mariah can dictate, with that beautifully rich, and smooth voice.

This powerful song sends the message of undying love and incredible hope. So, I'm sure once we all find our "special someone" this song will mean so much more than it already does.

The "Celebratory Mix" is rightfully named,in that it makes everyone want to dance. With the original version and this mix you can't go wrong.

This song deserves to be Mariah's (again, record breaking) #1.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love This Song!, January 29, 2000
This review is from: Thank God I Found You (Audio CD)
Mariah Carey did it again, I hope this will be her 15th #1. I really like the lyrics and the music. The lyrics meant alot to me and I'm sure to many other people out there, especially for those who finally found somebody you really care about and would never want to loose. Joe & 98 Degrees helped made this song nice, soft & romantic. The remix is great too! I recommend getting this one, if not for yourself, for somebody you care. Show them that you care, especially for this coming Valentine's day. I hope Mariah will make more single, the one I really would like to get is "Can't Take That Away" Keep it up Mariah, I'll always be a big fan of yours!

This song is so wondeful with Joe and 98* only making it better. The cd itself is my all-time favorite and "Thank God I Found You" is surely Mariah's next #1! I love you MARIAH!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank God I Found the Make It Last Remix, January 24, 2012

I've never liked the original version of Thank God I Found You (allegedly inspired by Mimi's then boyfriend Luis Miguel) and it's also my least favorite of Mariah's 18 number one hits. She's had some schmaltzy songs in her music catalog, but this one takes the cake with its gushing, over the top "I'm SOOO in LURVE" lyrics and equally saccharine production. Mariah sounds great as well as R&B veteran Joe, but 98 Degrees just don't do it for me. Sorry.

Now when I heard the Make It Last Forever Remix, I knew THAT was where it was at! Excluding 98 Degrees and the original's sugary sweet setting, the remix features Mariah gettin' her coo on (love her braids in the video) and Joe working his super suave magic over the sexy, late night rhythm of Keith Sweat's classic song of the same name. The first half sports newer lyrics and the latter incorporates verses from Sweat's song with rapper Nas dropping some nice rhymes.

A ceritified head nodder with a dusky, twilight vibe that's plain addictive. If only this had been the main version of the song, but alas. If you're looking for something extra special to add to a mixtape for that special someone, include this remix for sure. "Make it last forever, and ever/Thank God I found you!"

5.0 out of 5 stars The remix is butter (4.5 stars) but the original is where it's at (5 stars). 4.75 stars., December 3, 2007

The lyrics are awesome to both. Here are the big differences!

Thank God I Found You - An mid-tempo ballad, off of Rainbow (1999) about being lonely and alone for so long, and growing cold in the process. Just when you're at wit's end, and falling to pieces, scattering, He comes along to pick you up, and carry on with you. To hold and protect you. To remind you it's not so messed up after all. =^) Features one of R&B's most famous and well-known crooners, Joe and Pop-R&B superstars, 98 Degrees.

Thank God I Found You (Remix) - Another mid-tempo groove that wasn't included on the final release of Rainbow. It would've fit right in though! Features Nasir "Nasty Nas" Jones and Joe once again. It basically retraces the steps of the original, accept Mariah is half as alone and 1/3 (or less) desperate for love. Great, but no comparison to the original which not only features more heartwarming and heartfelt lyrics but overall, showcases the better vocal runs.
