Hillarious movie!,
By Sarah Fuller (Arizona, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Thank God for India (DVD)
As a former traveller in India myself, I couldn't help myself giggling like a nut in front of this documentary. Everyone who has been in India knows what I am talking about - this is just so.... India! Nothing is too weird or amazing to be a mundane reality in this country.
The Israeli traveller phenomenon in India is well known and notorious. The Israelis storm over this country, resulting in native Indians speaking fluent Hebrew, Israeli songs being played in traditional restaurants etc. This mixture of cultures is well documented in this film, making it a worthwile watch and a nostalgic experience to thos who have been in India as a traveller.

If you watched "Hummus Curry", this will be very familiar,

Like Hummus Curry This film tries to describe the young Israelis of today and their self-searching in India. I liked the connection between the travelers and their parents. The scenery is magnificent!

Take me to India!,
This review is from: Thank God for India (DVD)
This Israeli documentary portraying the lives of young Israeli travelers through India is similar to Hummus Curry. But while Hummus Curry shows only the lives of young people in India, "Thank God for India" takes Israelis in India even one step further and shows the parents of Israeli travelers encountering India themselves. A spiritual life changing experience.

the generatin gap,
By Jeff Butler "Classic Lit Lover" (New York, NY) - See all my reviews

The thing that is exceptional about "Thank God For India" is that it shows not only young Israelis traveling in India but also their parents. Watching the generation gap as it melted in India, warmed my heart. India and the Israelis who visit India, at their best!

It was nice experience to see how the parents are feelings when they hanging with shier sons and daughters in the far away villages of India. It was good also to see how they interact with the bad habits of living their: smoking drugs for example. This movie is a good example of 2 generations collide.
