I expected a simple summer read when I got this book and what I received was so much more. I seriously had to put it down a few times and reevaluate my life's dreams and goals haha! No joke - not only is it smart, cool, funny and unbelievable insightful (especially considering it was written by a guy), it really makes you think. It's definitely a book for a girl (or guy of course) who likes their chick-lit but with a little more meat on the bones.

I want to read more!

Just to start off, I'm an avid reader. I read on minimum 2-4 books a week. I read all types of fiction, mostly romantic comedy, murder mysteries, etc... I enjoy reading these types of books because their easy reads. Easy reads to me allows me to escape the stresses, pressures, deadlines in my real life, basically escape reality and allow your mind to open up and enjoy what you are reading. To put a smile on your face and to laugh.

So with that said, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was not only easy to read, I was instantly taken into the life of Zoe Tisdale. Most people can take one or two of the characters in this book and relate to them or to parts of their lives. I felt that each character had their own unique personality that collectively together told an exciting story (with of course some trials & tribulations along way.) I loved Zoe's determination and learned a lot from this character that I hope I can bring into my life.

When I finished the book, I was very pleased with the entire book and one of my first thoughts was, ok, we need a second book. I want to know what else happens to Zoe and her friends in their later life.

As for the Author, I think he did a terrific job at developing the story, taking you through with amazing descriptions, his choice of words and would highly recommend this book to anyone!

I truly look forward to reading more books from the author, Erik Atwell!

I have a 2 hour bus/train ride into the city everyday, so I am always looking for good books to read, and I love books that are about realistic women like Zoe! The character was so lifelike and real, and I found myself relating to her more and more with every turn of the page. At times I also found myself laughing out loud which got me some well deserved stares from the other bus passengers!

When a life changing event makes Zoe re-evaluate her own "mundane" existance, she does something that most people wouldn't do....she actually makes changes! Of course, she hits several bumps in the road while trying to find her way to a more fulfilling life, but she ultimately exceeds in doing what makes her the most happy in her life. I not only found myself routing for her, but also found myself re-evaluating my own life and how I can make changes to be happier. The author has succeeded in writing a book that makes you not only love the characters, but relate to them as well. It was also a book that I was sad to see end....maybe there will be a sequel....? :)

I recently picked up Thank You For Flying Air Zoe and am really glad I did. After struggling to get through (unsuccessfully) a series of non-fiction books, this one provided some very welcome, easy on the eyes, entertainment. For those of us life-loving, spontaneous, and quirky ladies of the 80s, this book will take you back to a time when friendship pins and hair bands were all the rage! And sure, you forget the protagonist and her pals are in their 40s, but isn't it a great thing to see the spirit of youth prevail? Ageless characters are relatable to me - as 40 fast approaches, I appreciate this quality! This book took me back to my teenage years...Exhilarating, poignant, and, at times, downright hilarious and ridonculous, this book is a fun read from start to finish.

I loved this book....Zoe is just like myself and other 40-something's trying to figure it out. It was so much fun to read her journey. It is fast-paced, and the writing is so refreshing! I caught myself laughing out loud so many times during this book, it was such a nice break. I enjoyed Zoe's adventures, as well as her search to find some peace. The references to the 80's were hilarious! I couldn't put Zoe and Co away, and now that I am done, I miss her!! This was a great adventure...I highly recommend!!! Looking forward to reading more from this wonderful new Author.

I grabbed this novel on my way to the airport, headed for a week in sweltering (new meaning to this word) week in Texas. The opening pages were quite ironic to me, or maybe a paradox, as I was reading on flight. It opens with Zoe enduring a frightening flight experience. Nonetheless, I read on. What a delight to find myself back in the 80's in LA. It really ignited great memories of my twenties. Even though I've never toyed with being in a band, I went to countless concerts in my day. I highly recommend this book if you want true fun and a lift to your spirit.

If you haven't picked up a book for your summer vacation yet, order this one now! It will make you laugh; it will make you smile, and it will remind you both to treasure your dreams and to go after them--no matter how distant some of those dusty old dreams may have become. This is fun-lit at its best. It is both well-written and humorous--all while subtly urging a reexamination of long-forgotten dreams and their meanings.
