"If you are moving through the end of a partnership that you thought would last forever, I cannot recommend Thank You for Leaving Me highly enough. No matter the particular reasons your relationship shifted, the larger messages in this book will meet you where you are--and get you where you now wish to go." - Neale Donald Walsch, Author of Conversations with God

"This book teaches you how to turn a breakdown into a breakthrough. This book teachers you perseverance, resiliency and forgiveness." - Lisa Nichols, star of The Secret and Author of No Matter What

"Amazingly open and authentic... of tremendous value for women and men dissolving and recreating themselves" - Dr. David Simon, CEO of the Chopra Center, Author of Free to Love, Free to Heal

"I have not laughed and cried so much over a single book since reading Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat, Pray, Love. I adore this book. Farhana Dhalla is straight from the heart!" - Teresa de Grosbois, Founder of The Evolutionary Business Council and Bestselling Author

From the Author

There are many sides to a story. I am not here to represent each side. I am simply sharing my own.

There is nothing linear about the healing process. There are times I have great understanding, am full of hope and excitement and then, in a flash, I am frozen in fear and burning in anger.

You might notice that I may have a discovery that may directly contradict the situation at hand. Such is the way... somewhere in the contradiction lays the truth.

All feelings of wisdom, pain, fear and love can exist at the same time.

More About the Author

Used to thinking on her feet, Farhana Dhalla found solutions hard to come by when her marriage of ten years came to an abrupt end on Valentine's Day. She cocooned and she coached herself as she would a client. She found the questions excruciating to ask and liberating when answered.

Her book Thank You for Leaving Me chronicles the various stages that she went through to find herself at an eventual state of peace and joy. It offers a beautifully and honestly written step-by-step to move from seeing everything as happening TO you to happening FOR you.

I read this when I was going through my own separation and feeling hopeless and lost. Thank You for Leaving Me changed the way I looked at everything. I went from seeing things as happening TO me to happening FOR me. It was like reading the journal of a good friend who was honestly telling me what I needed to do to find the happiness, peace, gratitude and yes enlightenment from a life-changing experience. Farhana Dhalla is a gift and the book was what saved me. I am much happier and aware of how much a part of my spiritual growth my divorce actually was! Thank You Farhana!!

This is challenging and very personal, writing this review for you. I'm sharing a secret I hadn't told anyone until today...

This book was handed to me, from an acquaintance at a cancer caregivers support group. Looking back, I realize this was likely an afterthought, on her part. A token given to a broke, damaged man, living in unending pain. But, this hand-me-down book soon became a dog-eared, yellow highlighted comfortable place to land, for my spirit and for my soul. Now, it is a cherished gift, a keepsake.

But, my experience was not divorce but it was soon to become a very painful separation and loss. This book reminded me that losses are not all faults, blame, pain and failure. Farhana's situation is so very different than yours or mine, but I learned, laughed and loved what she wrote for us. It's not a self-help book but it helped my 'self'.

I know your journey, the author's and mine are no where near the same. However, all of our grief filled weeping and howling laughter come the same part of our souls. This book not only reminds us but demonstrates that if you and I can laugh at our challenges, it takes some of the pain, fear and emotional strength from those challenges. You know 'old school' conservative men, like me, we're not comfortable telling others about our loved ones or our own problems... Or to ask for help. But for me because of the humor this book made it easier to do just that. It helped me to laugh at my challenges, as the author had, too.

This book, reminded me that just telling humorous stories of my pain could help others, too. So, I did and it did. My challenges didn't become an emotional dropped banana peel but an occasional self-deprecating punch line... It was then I could help others, too.

What I love most about this book is how the author takes you on her very personal journey from the heart crushing news of infidelity through the sometimes-messy and sometimes-not-so-pretty lessons of overcoming the pain, hurt, and heartbreak of divorce. It just goes to show, you don't have to do everything perfectly, you don't have to be perfect... All you ever have to do is continue with your own self-inquiry until you can lovingly say "It's over. And it happened FOR me, not TO me."

Thank You for Leaving Me is an open-hearted and honest account of how one woman did just that. If you choose to read it, you'll find the strength and courage that you need to make your own divorce or ending a loving one, too.

This book is a must read for everyone, whether you are in a relationship or out of it. The simplicity and sincerity in which it was written is amazing. You can actually feel yourself empathizing with the writer. I finished the book at one sitting. The difference with this book and any other spiritual book on divorce is that the writer is not trying to tell us what to do, rather she left it to you to figure it out from her own experience. Hence, I can't wait to read it again and deduce what is my take-away lessons from it.

This book is one anyone going through a relationship change must read. Thank You for leaving me is written in the context of a divorce but inside holds the wisdom that can be applied to a death, a friendship ending or simply a change in a relationship. For me there was a piece Farhana shares about looking at the relationship from the other's point of view, this is brillant, it moved me from being the victim to being accountable, to understanding the entire scenario which left me resentment free. Be ready to face the truth in yourself and step up to a higher level of joy as you uncover your own awareness. This is a book that takes you on a real life journey and as you share in another's discoveries you find you are no longer alone and as you heal, you will find the words Thank You escaping your lips and soon you will realize "All is being done for you and not to you" (Farhana's quote)! Farhana's story will show you how it can be done so you are left with some very handy tools to assist your own process.
Take a chance on this opportunity to change, design the life you desire, a small investment for such an empowering message of support.
