4.0 out of 5 stars from out of nowhere!, July 30, 2005
This review is from: Thanks for Asking (Audio CD)
This CD came from out of nowhere, and has gotten better with every listening. It's been awhile since Quannum has released a new album, let alone new talent, and this one is hot. It builds to a fervor when the guest appearances start popping up, the best being See That with Mr. Lif killin' it as usual. The sound is unique, blending glitch and techno effects with hip-hop beats. It's hard to define, just check it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intercontinental Mayoral Collaboration, September 12, 2005
This review is from: Thanks for Asking (Audio CD)
This album is the result of a collaboration between New York city mayor Michael Bloomberg and his wife Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore. Bloomberg sings about everyday occurrences such as taking the bus and buying a paper. His hip-hop stylings are displayed by a very nice New York flow you might expect from locals such as De La Soul or Jay-Z. Moore prefers to sing about more abstract and surreal subject such as loving her husband and flying to the moon on his back. Although they split the vocal work 50/50, the albums production is provided mainly by Michael Bloomberg, whose mother collects vintage synthesisers and drum machines. Watch for the special guest appearence by Condoleezza Rice on the song "Tea & Biscuits at the White House".
