I grew up in Texas and currently live in Texas, but I have lived in a lot of different places in between: Spain, New Jersey, San Diego, San Francisco, NYC, and Boston. Meeting so many different people from so many different places has helped to inspire a lot in my writing, and I continue to meet interesting people in my own backyard. Books helped me out a lot as a kid and they remain steady companions, teachers, and friends. Wherever I go, "growing up" gets a little bit easier every day.

I picked this book up and started flipping through pages and instantly started getting all teary-eyed. It says everything and more I could ever think of saying to my best friend of 15 years. And the illustrations are darling. I bought the book and will be giving it to my friend for Christmas!
