5.0 out of 5 stars Great holiday cookbook! January 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Another great cookbook by Ms. Cynthia Hill Durham! I have so many of her cookbooks by now (10 or 12, perhaps) that I can hardly keep them straight. I love relaxing in the evenings with my Kindle ebooks and planning recipes for home-cooked meals. This one has some wonderful family recipes that I can't wait to try.

A great guide to a traditional Thanksgiving meal, including simple instructions on when to do what in order to get everything on the table and ready for your guests.
The recipes are all bound to become favorites and they won't just be reserved for the holidays.

More About the Author

First, before I say anything about myself, let me tell all of my readers that if you have any problems with my books (I make mistakes all the time--it's a learning curve) please contact me at and see if I can help.

That said, I am a handicapped American author who is trying to earn a living writing cookbooks. I have over 50 years experience cooking authentic American cuisine, literally starting in my high-chair, as our housekeeper/baby-sitter/nanny taught me to cook, can and otherwise work around the kitchen and garden.

My cookbooks are designed for beginners, busy people and lovers of history. My pie book is particularly interesting for historians as many of the recipes are very old. I have gleaned them from the annals of cookbooks of old, some of which are British. Everything is in American;

Also, I blog. You can find me on WordPress at Backwoods Redneck, because I am a Backwoods Redneck! I also blog about life and politics at Ignorance is overcomeable; stupidity is terminal. Yes, I know overcomeable is not a word. If it offends you, then please, think of it as "can be educated", as in "ignorance can be educated." You can find me in the garden at The Poverty Planter.

My handicap is real. My need is real. My sense of humor is intact and my wit can be keen. My experience at life is priceless. Please join me in the journey.
