Thao and Mirah have very different voices and musical personalities, so the combination is quite an interesting one. There is a nice variety of musical styles and some very interesting lyrics on this album. Note that the catchy first song, 'Eleven' is quite a bit different from anything else on the album, so you might want to check out some of the other songs before deciding to get this album. Although some of the other songs may not be quite as catchy on first listen, they may grow on you. I think it's well worth it to spend some time listening to this album.

I am not a wordsmith, so I will keep this simple. Try it (30 second clips on Amazon), and if you like it, then buy it.
The songs are sometimes serious, and sometimes quirky. The arrangements are odd and exciting. If you catch a video of them on youtube, you might notice that Thao does not move to the obvious beat of the music. I think she has her own personal drummer. This is not mainstream music, so if you like the blond dancing showmen that's all over music these days, then you might want to move on. But if you want really good and different sound, then check them out. -rwg

I've been a fan of Mirah's work for a while, and I'm very impressed by this release. I find it to be so incredibly fun and enjoyable, with the songs being beautifully quirky. Not everyone will be into this, but I definately love it.
