5.0 out of 5 stars Not at all what I thought
When I began reading the first chapter of this book, I knew my life was going to change. I expected to pick up this book and read all about what my husband was doing wrong in the area of sex. I thought (and perhaps even hoped) that the book would give me all kinds of tips to share with my husband in order to make him more sensitive to my needs. Fortunately, that was not...

2.0 out of 5 stars Marla Taviano Has Very Little Useful to Share
This book unfortunately provided a perfect example for why the Bible tells the older women to teach the younger women. Marla Taviano is a young mom who has only been married a few years, who shares from her own meager experience.

Marla wrote that she gained her information by talking to her friends, which explains the similarity of their responses. She...

5.0 out of 5 stars Not at all what I thought, February 6, 2007
This review is from: Is That All He Thinks About?: How to Enjoy Great Sex with Your Husband (Paperback)
Fortunately, that was not the case. After completing the first chapter, I gave it time to sink in. I had never heard this outlook on sex before, and immediately, my attitude toward the subject changed completely. I rediscovered the joy of sex, and I am forever grateful to Marla Taviano for writing about something that we all need to read. I would definitely recommend this book to EVERY married woman.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eye-opening look at the role of sex in a Christian marriage, November 15, 2007
This review is from: Is That All He Thinks About?: How to Enjoy Great Sex with Your Husband (Paperback)
Is That All He Thinks About by Marla Taviano is a fantastic read about the Christian outlook on sex. I was hesitant about the book at first, but the blurb on the back from the writer's husband Gabe made me take a look: Buy this book, read it and do everything Marla says. In the end, it was a great read. I learned a lot about how men think and why sex is so important to marriage. Taviano makes excellent points throughout. Women don't need sex to maintain their equilibrium like men do, but that's no reason for us to ignore their needs. She addresses it well in a conversation with a friend in which she asks what the friend's favorite things to do are. The friend responds with shopping and scrapbooking. Taviano asks her how often she would get to do those things if she could only do them with her husband. The friend answered "not very often, that's why I do them with my friends." But Taviano explains that sex is one of our husbands' favorite things to do, and they can only do it with us. Is it fair to not give them that opportunity? While many women (me included), use the excuse that if he was more understanding, sympathetic, helpful, etc., he'd get more, Taviano points out that we're going about it all the wrong way! Sex for men is a need, for most women it doesn't even register on their radar, but when a man's needs are being met, he's more likely to meet his wife's needs for cuddling, help around the house, and a sympathetic ear. She uses Bible verses to make many of her points, especially Song of Solomon. This book is a real eye-opener giving a new perspective on sex within the marriage. One small warning: the book is about sex, so it's occasionally graphic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read, January 17, 2007

This review is from: Is That All He Thinks About?: How to Enjoy Great Sex with Your Husband (Paperback)
This book is simple in its approach but powerful in its message. It encourages wives to seek God's guidance in this sensitive area of their marriages. Marla is honest and candid about issues that we all face but we rarely talk about. I found myself having a hard time putting it down as it kept me wanting to read more.
You won't be sorry if you take the time to read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Book to be Read Over & Over, January 28, 2007
By
This review is from: Is That All He Thinks About?: How to Enjoy Great Sex with Your Husband (Paperback)
In this book the author does an exceptional job of tackling this subject in a Christ-honoring way. One of the best aspects to this book is the emphasis on prayer and how that can impact every area in a marriage-even sex! Personally, I couldn't put the book down, and I would encourage wives of all ages to read this book-it's a gem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Newlyweds, READ, April 27, 2007
This review is from: Is That All He Thinks About?: How to Enjoy Great Sex with Your Husband (Paperback)
As a newlywed, this book allowed me to realize how important sex is to my husband before I developed many of my own misconceptions or annoyances. One of the most promiment things that I learned is that sex in a way, fulfills a man's "emotion needs". If I want my husband to fulfill my emotional needs, being loved on, cuddled etc, then I must first fulfill his needs unselfishly.
I couldn't put this book down. It is a great and Biblical resource to ignite sex within marriage.

Wow! Marla made the point that sex with my husband should be my hobby! I've been married three years and never thought of sex in that way. Everything is still new to me and to read this book helps me not only figure out myself, but my husband as well. I have learned so much through this book and read various chapters again and again to keep reminding myself of what God wants in my sexual life. Marla encourages us that we are not alone in our thoughts and feelings towards sex. Many woman deal with the same issues and Marla uses their words of wisdom in the book as well. This is a GREAT book and God will bless your marriage through it.

This review is from: Is That All He Thinks About?: How to Enjoy Great Sex with Your Husband (Paperback)
This book has a lot of great insight into the sexual side of a marriage relationship, what it means to your husband and how pleasing him in his desire for sex will bring satisfaction to the wife also. I appreciate that the author stresses the importance of sex being something to only be shared by a man and his wife. She shares some great hints and insights that when put into practice do prove to bring a couple closer in intimacy. My husband and I have both reaped the benefits of this wonderful Christian book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A book every married woman can benefit from!, March 26, 2009
This review is from: Is That All He Thinks About?: How to Enjoy Great Sex with Your Husband (Paperback)
I really learned a lot from this book. It made me laugh, it made me cringe, it made me think... The author frankly addresses her subject (sex within the confines of marriage) in such a non-judgmental, non-threatening, positive way. When I finished reading it, I didn't feel bad about how things have been up to this point. Instead, I felt empowered to make improvements and become a better wife and a better Christian.
